SIMATS Chennai admission process is based on both entrance test and merit list set by the university. To apply for UG courses, candidates must have atleast passed Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognised board with 50% aggregate. For admission to UG courses, candidates must appear NEET-UG exam conducted by NTA. 

Admission to MBBS, BTech, MBA, M.Tech courses is done on the basis of NEET-UG, TNEA, TANCET, GATE exams respectively.

Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) offers a variety of scholarships depending on extracurricular and academic accomplishments rather than a universal 100% scholarship. Students who have qualified for JEE-Main or have achieved 80% or higher in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible for a 50% fee scholarship offered by the institution. Admission to most of the courses are done on the basis of national level common entrance examinations, while the college also conducts entrance for a few courses. For B.E./B.Tech courses, eligible candidates need to appear in Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) or Common Entrance Test conducted by Anna University. The selection is done through the Single Window Counseling process administered by Anna University via Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), with a required cut-off score of 200 (100 for Mathematics and 100 for Physics + Chemistry).
