Satisfied with faculty, good placement, really good infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: The placement rate at Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai is quite good, about 85-90%. The highest package is 1.2 crore, the lowest is around 6-7 lakhs, and the average package is about 8-9 lakhs. Top recruiting companies include Amazon, TCS, and others. Around 85-90% of students from my course got internships in top companies.
Infrastructure: The facilities are excellent, including Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library. Wi-Fi is available from 4 a.m. to 12 a.m., and the library is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Labs are well-maintained and clean, and the classrooms are well-ventilated. Hostel facilities are good, and the food is delicious.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, with many coming from institutions like Anna University. They provide us with good and useful content. The course curriculum is relevant and helps prepare students for the industry. Semester exams are quite challenging, with a pass percentage set at 50%.
Other: I got this course through college allotment, but I am happy with it. The events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, and campus surroundings are all interesting and enjoyable.

Amazing faculty members and peaceful environment.
Placements: Most applicants have successfully secured seats at my college. The highest package offered is ₹45 LPA, with the lowest being ₹5 LPA and an average of ₹7 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Khaitan & Co and Clutch Group. Many students begin internships from their first year, with the college actively facilitating the process.
Infrastructure: The food at our college is commendable. There are around 5 dining spots to relish. The library has 4 floors with an impressive collection of educational books combined with a few relaxing novels. Classrooms are air-conditioned, therefore really comfortable. There's only one moot court hall, which is a major drawback for law students.
Faculty: The curriculum has potential for enhancement. It could incorporate more law subjects rather than giving equal (or more) focus on B.A. or BBA subjects. Semester exams are fine. We're allowed to retake internal exams for valid reasons. One needs to get a minimum of 40% in the final semester exam regardless of internals.
Other: The best thing about my course is the faculty. The faculty in law school is phenomenal. More law subjects could be incorporated. There's no scarcity of events and extracurricular activities.

It is a good college, but the college fee is a bit costly.
Placements: In our college, almost 85-90% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 45 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA to 5 LPA. The average salary package offered is 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Khaitan & Co, Clutch Group, J. Sagar Associates, Microsoft, AppDynamics, D. E. Shaw, Dell, WorkIndia, UDAAN, Morgan Stanley, Amazon, Flipkart, PayPal, Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, etc., visit our campus. Around 40% of students get paid internships. It is not like the other 60% of students don't get internships. They have to apply through LinkedIn and other forums, but VIT faculty members also help. Internships are mandatory, as 10 credits are reserved for internships. Companies that provided internships are TCS, IBM, Tech Mahindra, TVS, Tata, Wipro, etc. Top roles offered are legal secretary, legal associate/advisor, legal clerk, legal analyst, litigation lawyer, criminal lawyer, and company secretary.
Infrastructure: Our college provides good infrastructure. There are huge buildings with several classrooms and labs. Most labs have a seating capacity of 70-80 students. Air-conditioners and PCs are available in labs. Air-conditioners are not available in classrooms. Only fans are available in classrooms. Smart classrooms are available. Our classrooms have four boards, two whiteboards, and two blackboards. Projectors are available in classrooms. Benches are cushioned and comfortable. The campus is clean. Canteens and food courts are available at different locations where you can have a variety of food. A huge central library is available. Many books are available in the library. Air-conditioners are available in libraries. Another interesting fact is that you will get charging points in classrooms and libraries, so you need not worry about laptop batteries. There are 2 beds in air-conditioners rooms and non-air-conditioners rooms, 3 beds in air-conditioners rooms and non-air-conditioners rooms, 4 beds in air-conditioners rooms and non-air-conditioners rooms and 6 beds in air-conditioners rooms and non-air-conditioners rooms. Rooms are not too spacious but manageable. Mosquito fogging every week and cleaning daily. For any electric device not working, you can register a complaint, which will be resolved within 2 to 3 days. Bathrooms and toilets are not attached to rooms. They are common on every floor. Normal, cold, or warm drinking water is provided. Electric devices such as electric kettles and microwaves are not allowed in rooms. They serve vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and special food. On the special menu, you will get some milkshakes and juices extra. You will get fruits in the vegetarian mess. You get breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Tea, coffee, and milk are all available both for breakfast and snacks. South Indian and North Indian are both types of food you will get, alternatively.
Faculty: The FFCS system means you can choose your schedule. You can choose your teachers every semester. Your choice is based on your previous CGPA. Students with a higher CGPA get priority in choosing time slots and teachers. Students with 100% get more priority. For giving exams, at least 75% attendance is mandatory in each subject, but if you are a 9-pointer, you don't need to maintain 75% attendance for giving exams. The exam pattern is CAT1, CAT2, and FAT for every semester. Our teachers are fair and well-qualified. FFCS, maintain more than a 9 CGPA, and choose preferred teachers. The course curriculum is well-set according to modern syllabuses. Exams are average, and the scoring system is relative grading. The pass percentage is 80%.
Other: This is the only well-known college that I was getting into according to my scores in exams. The fee is category-wise. If you are capable of paying, you can come. Our college provides a lot of opportunities. If you can grab it, you can succeed. Every year, our college organises fests such as TechiVIT, in which students and clubs take part to show their projects and skills in different fields. There are so many fascinating games and workshops about technology. Second is the cultural festival known as Vibrance, where celebrities come and perform. You can enjoy shows and concerts. Events, games, and workshops also happen during these fests, but the main focus is on the cultural part. The third is Sports Fest, which is very obvious. There is no need to explain. The campus crowd is good. Connectivity for airports and railway stations is easy, but far.

It is a good college for hard working students.
Placements: More than 90% of students got placed in the previous year. The average salary package offered is more than 6 LPA. For CSE, the salary packages are more. The highest salary package offered by Microsoft is 45 LPA. This is received by 4 students. The lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Jio, TCS, and Infosys.
Infrastructure: There are several Wi-Fi connections and labs in our college where students can sit and use desktops and the internet for their projects. Classrooms are well-equipped with projectors, smart boards, and speakers. There are enough desks. The hostel is decent with a large mess. Our college provides sports facilities like badminton, table tennis, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. They clear doubts. They guide us well. The teaching quality is above average. The course curriculum is good and updated to become industry-ready. Semester exams are quite difficult.
Other: All fests on the campus are quite good. Very famous personalities visit our college during fests.

Good infrastructure, the admission charges for the course is fine but hostel is costly.
Placements: The placement cell of the college conducts the drive to provide well off opportunities to the students but in terms of internships, the students will have to make their effort in finding companies to intern with as college does not help you with that.
Infrastructure: The course is created by the necessary guidelines of BCI and is interesting well as engaging the hostel facilities are good but come with restrictions for girls as everything will be informed to your proctor, warden and parents.
Faculty: The faculty I have had are very helping so far and they give the necessary guidance to tackle the exams, engagement during discussions do help a lot and choosing the faculty for respective subjects is very important as it will be very helpful in future.

Infrastructure is good, and I am satisfied with everything.
Placements: Nearly 200 students from our course were placed. The highest salary offered is Rs. 50,000 per month, the lowest salary offered is Rs. 30,000 per month and the average salary offered is Rs. 15,000 per month. Top recruiting companies of our college are TCS, Swiggy, Amazon and car industry. The top role offered to the students is legal advisory. In our course, the highest salary offered is Rs. 50,000 for 3 years. The average salary offered is Rs. 20,000 and the lowest salary offered is Rs. 15,000 temporary time period. Minimum 5% of the students would be given an internship mostly in Swiggy and Amazon.
Infrastructure: VIT provides many facilities. Free Wi-Fi is given to every student, which is limited to 30 GB per month. Classrooms are quite good. However, labs and classrooms are not necessary for law subjects. The library is the best here. I am a day scholar, so I don't know much about hostel facilities.
Faculty: Some teachers here are quiet well-professional in their job, but some teachers, such as visiting faculty members, are bad at teaching and handling the class. Law course is the best and most required knowledge to be gained in future. It makes students industry-ready.
Other: I have chosen this course because I like law, and the law is the most powerful tool in future. We feel more secure by gaining this course. There is nothing to be changed in our course. Cultural events are the best in VIT College.

Love to learn at VIT and discover the latent you.
Placements: Since the first batch of the law school has not passed out yet I am currently not in a position to give any affirmed review about the same. But from what I have heard the placement opportunities are going to at par with that of other streams of the university.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is amazing. The classrooms are air conditioning thus enabling an environment for studies beating the scorching heat weather of Chennai. The library is vastly equipped with reference materials of all kinds, additionally the college also enables access to e-resources. Both hostellers and day scholars are provided with free Wi-Fi in the campus. The campus is beautiful and self sufficient. The campus has football, volleyball, basketball ajd cricket grounds. There are courts for indoor games such as badminton and table tennis and equipments for cartons n chess as well. All the hostels have full fledged well-equipped gymnasiums. The campus has its own health centre and balance facility for serious health endangering situations and has an affiliation with the much reputed Chettinad Hospital. The hostels are pretty nice as well with its own mess and night canteens.
Faculty: The faculty members are scholars in their subject. The Dean himself being an eminent personality in the field of law. The faculty members maintain a student friendly relationship with students and are very warm as well parent like. The college follows a student interest oriented credits system thus enabling the child to set up his own time table for subjects and choosing between faculty members in accordance with his level of interest and wants.
Other: The university mainly hosts two main college fests, namely VIBRANCE and VITECHFEST. Apart from these, other fest keep coming up now and then hosted by different departments of the university. The law school hosts annual inter college moot court competition and MUNs as well as other debate championships.

A law school without democratic spirit.
Placements: As of today when I am writing this review, the first batch of the law school is still in its 4th year and the placement will happen only after 12 months. The management says that only the mass recruiters like Infosys, TCS, etc., and a few third tier law firms will be coming over here for recruitment. The management hasn't been answering our queries regarding the same, and there is no official word from their side regarding the same. We are still waiting for our senior batch to go through the process. However, Madras High Court being the closest of all, we are expecting a few lawyers of the HC to recruit various students. Talking about internships, the management unofficially provides internship to students in top firms of the country. Also, various judge chambers take in interns from our college (including Madras High Court). The students have also interned in JSA, Supreme Court, State HRC and in the offices of other senior advocates of the Supreme Court. The law school doesn't have a defined procedure to provide students with internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the university is top notch. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards, projectors and are air-conditioned (law school classrooms only). The labs include moot court hall which is opened up thrice every year, once for the photo shoot, once for the national moot court competition and once for the intramural moot court competition. We do have a legal aid clinic which isn't functioning. The library has almost all the essential books. Talking about the digital library, we have Manupatra whose subscription has expired as of the day I am writing this description, and we have Westlaw which works only on the hostel Wi-Fi or in the library (the remote access key is still not available to students). Medical facilities include a health centre which is like a mini-hospital and also has an ambulance. It is run in collaboration with Chettinad Hospital and has 18*7 doctor availability as far as I know. The medicines are free of cost (the basic drugs). For sports, TT, tennis, basketball, cricket, volleyball, football and gym areas are there in this humongous campus. The hostel rules are extremely strict, and the curfew timings are from 9-5 for boys and 7-5 for girls. The hostel infrastructure is pretty decent as we have AC and Non AC rooms in all the hostels. But none of the washrooms have showers, and you will have to take buckets and then clean of your sweat after a tiring day of classes from 8 AM to 5 PM. The electricity backup is 24 hours, but ACs work only from 6 PM to 6 AM in the morning when classes aren't there and full days on weekends or holidays. The mess is divided into North, South and Special, wherein the price and food both vary. The students have the liberty to decide their menus and food is decent, but is bad sometimes. The mess caterers also conduct a monthly feast wherein great food is provided once every month. Don't expect a restaurant or homemade food from VIT hostels. The price for AC room + mess remains around 1.2 lakh and varies every academic year. The management provides in-house Wi-Fi to the students with 15 GB of data every month. But from 9 PM to 11 PM every night, the Wi-Fi either completely stops or slows down to that extent that we don't feel like using it because at that time around 5,000 students are using the network at the same time. Various websites which the college authorities think aren't good for students are blocked.
Faculty: Some faculty are really amazing while some are really pathetic. This is a dilemma that almost every law school in the country faces. The faculty are usually helpful and are knowledgeable. By allowing only PhD faculty to serve in the institution, the management has put up a bar on the quality non-PhD staff who could have joined the institution. The student-faculty ratio is 40:1 to 60:1 depending on the course. For every law subject, the law school offers two faculty members, out of which the students have the liberty to chose one on first come first serve basis. The curriculum is so thorough that it becomes a burden rather than a curriculum. In scorching heats of Chennai and this humongous campus, you'll have to walk at least 2 km every day to attend classes. The classes are conducted between 8 am to 4:40 pm depending on the batch you are in, and there are usually 6 hours of classes every day. Teaching methods adopted are normal project and examination bases methods. Out of the 3 exams that are conducted per semester in every subject, one is openbook, which is very disheartening as this creates a spirit of mugging up in the 2 exams and not analysing law and then writing it down. The industry exposure is available to the students with one court visit happening every semester and one guest lecture happening frequently (but most of them aren't from firms or practising but from teaching field only). The course curriculum is not useful as random subjects like social transformation are included in the course which makes the course annoying instead of interesting because, by the time you go to the class for the subject which was supposed to be interesting, you would be tired of hearing to the boring lectures of unnecessary and irrelevant subjects. The student's voice is not heard in the college, and there is no student council for the students. The one which is there is used to ensure OC for fests which happens twice every year but are good.
Other: The discrimination regarding the hostel rules for girls and boys is immense in VIT. The uniform is also compulsory for classes which have been prescribed by BCI. Wearing shorts outside the hostel is not allowed to girls. Ragging has never happened and will never happen in VIT as the ones who do it are thrown out of the college straight away. Also, unions cannot be formed.
