SIMATS Chennai admission process is based on both entrance test and merit list set by the university. To apply for UG courses, candidates must have atleast passed Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognised board with 50% aggregate. For admission to UG courses, candidates must appear NEET-UG exam conducted by NTA. 

Admission to MBBS, BTech, MBA, M.Tech courses is done on the basis of NEET-UG, TNEA, TANCET, GATE exams respectively.

Students who have qualified for JEE-Main or have achieved 80% or higher in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible for a 50% fee scholarship offered by the institution. Based on their degree of accomplishment, SIMATS offers scholarships ranging from 10% to 50% of tuition fees in recognition of students' excellence in sports. SIMATS does not offer a direct admission to B.Tech. An entrance exam is required.
The admission process for B.Tech is as follows:

• The JEE Mains and TNCE exams are used to provide admission at SIMATS
• Candidates who have been shortlisted based on their enterance exam scores are required to attend counselling sessions where they can select the B.Tech specialisation they want.
• The final merit list is prepared using factors other than JEE, such as 12th standard marks.
