Yes, it is hard to get admission at SOA University. The university offers UG, PG, and PhD courses across various streams such as  Agriculture, Law, Medical, Management, Engineering and others. SOA University admission for UG and PG programs is based on SOA's entrance exam i.e. SAAT. Apart from that, national-level entrance exams such as NEET, JEE Main,  CAT, XAT,  GATE, etc. are also accepted for the admission process. 

SOA is one of the top private universities in Bhubaneswar, India. It is allotted a band rank of 1201-1400 by the QS World University Rankings 2025. The NIRF 2022 ranked SOA University in 16th position. SOA University has been continuously ranked among the top 20 Universities in India by NIRF. SOA is approved by the UGC and accredited by NAAC, ABET, and NBA. It is also recognised by the Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO). The SOA University's placement drive for the batch graduating in 2022 has been successfully completed. According to the most recent data, INR 42 LPA was the highest salary package provided during the 2022 placement drive. Students from SOA University's numerous programmes, including B.Tech, MBA, MCA and BDS among others, received favourable offers from reputable businesses during the placement drive for 2022.

The hostel fee structure for SOA University depends upon the number of accommodations, for double sharing with Air conditioning the fee is INR 1.20 Lacs per annum. For triple-sharing rooms with Air conditioning, the fee is INR 90,000 per annum. Siksha O Anusandhan University provides separate hostels for boys and girls with 24-hour security and Wi-Fi facilities. There are 13 boys and 11 girls hostel. The hostels also have mess facilities providing hygienic and nutritious food. The mess charges are not included in the hostel fee, candidates need to pay INR 36,000 per annum to avail of the campus mess.

For AII India and Home State categories, the NEET UG cutoff were released. Based on the SOA University cutoff 2024, the last round for the medical courses stood at, 323611 for the General AI category candidates. As per the cutoff, yes it is possible to take admission with 70k for the MBBS course. 

Yes, you can get admission to BTech at SOA University without JEE Mains. The university accepts admission based on  SOA's entrance exam i.e. SAAT. For admission to the BTech course, candidates must have BTech eligibility criteria and valid scores in the entrance exam. Candidates must also qualify for SOA University BTech eligibility criteria Class 12 with 50% aggregate from a recognised board.

Yes, the University has a Training and Placement Cell that focuses on three aspects of a career such as Placement and subsequent career, Higher Education, and Entrepreneurship. The Cell organises training modules as a part of regular classes starting from the pre-final year of all the batches so that they get ready before the start of the campus recruitment drives.
