Shivalik College provides a balanced life for students.

Placements: For engineering, it's definitely a 10 on 10, but for BBA I think it's 6 on 10. For BBA, now there are close to 800 students graduating every year, and after engineering, it's the second most populous course. So out of 800 students, if 500 apply for placements, I think around 250 of them get placed. Hence, it's a 50% placement ratio for BBA at Shivalik University, Dehradun.

Infrastructure: I am from Dehradun and therefore missing out on special hostels that our university has. Both the boys' and girls' hostels are great. Overall, there are 8 buildings in our college, and all are just too good to be true. The new-age infrastructure with digital library and modern sports facilities makes our infrastructure one of the best in the business.

Faculty: I am giving a mixed review here, as I have had my reservations with some faculty members' style of teaching, while some of them have been truly beyond words. The latest methods and techniques are used to teach students by your faculty members. I want to be a business professional in the future, and therefore I have opted for BBA.

Other: The campus crowd is great. Luckily, on the event days we can go to the college in civil uniform.

Shivalik College of Engineering deserves a lot of appreaciation!

Placements: Placements at Shivalik University, Dehradun are great, as our engineering college is the flagship college, and therefore it's mostly the IT companies which comes for recruitment. Infosys hired the maximum BBA students last year, and luckily most of them were placed with a pay structure of around 4LPA - 6LPA.

Infrastructure: There's a huge girls' hostel on our campus, and I have been staying there since the beginning. It is unarguably a much better option than staying at independent options off campus. Overall, the campus is spread over 20 acres and more. For assignments notes and Xerox we don't have to rush off-campus as all these facilities are well provided on campus.

Faculty: If one needs perfect mentors in life, I can bet that it can't be better than the faculty members of our institute. BBA faculty members mostly are from corporate background, and that's what makes it even more special. They bring a lot of value plus the best thing is they make students feel valuable too.

Other: From quiz competitions to debates, I have participated in many of those events. Our annual fest Shivafest is unarguably the biggest music fest I have witnessed live.

Placements: The average package is around 2-5 LPA. The highest package is reported to be around 10 LPA. Companies visiting the campus are TCS, Flipkart, and other IT and service companies. There is a very small number of children who got internships. There is no specific top recruiting company.

Infrastructure: There are good classrooms and labs for students. The college provides Wi-Fi for students. The library is also good. Hostel facilities are available for boys and girls. The campus environment is good with a decent hostel, but the food quality is not up to the mark.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good and understandable. The course curriculum is not relevant to industry requirements, and it does not make students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately tough. The minimum pass percentage is around 35%.

Beyond classes - My experience at DBS.

Placements: From what I have seen, the placement opportunities at Doon Business School are good. Students get exposure to companies from different fields. Especially finance, marketing, HR, sales, and business development. The college also focuses on preparing students for interviews and aptitude tests for jobs. Industrial visits and internships are another plus point as they give you an idea of what the corporate world feels like.

Infrastructure: I like the overall campus and the infrastructure at Doon Business School. The classrooms are very comfortable and there are facilities like Wi-Fi, library space and areas for extracurricular activities. There are also sports facilities, so the college life is not only about academics. The hostel facilities are also decent. Having mess and other basic facilities available on campus make the life of the student more convenient. I also feel that the campus is designed in such a way that encourages students to participate in various events and competitions.

Faculty: I have had a pretty good experience with the faculty at DBS. Mostly our teachers are approachable. They are always willing to help whenever students have doubts. The curriculum is a mix of theory and practical work. So we do not just sit and study from the books. We have a number of presentations, projects, and activities that make classes way more interesting.

Other: I chose BBA because I wanted to understand different areas of business before deciding where I wanted to specialize. What I like most about DBS is the exposure we get through events, industrial visits, internships and different student activities. Many activities are happening around the campus and students get opportunities to participate in events, competitions, industrial visits, presentations and workshops.

The college campus is good, but it feels like a school. Faculty is good.

Placements: There is no placement or hospital affiliation for paramedical students, but the college has numerous hospitals for posting nursing students. A posting fee will be applicable per student. College placement bridges the gap between academia and industry.

Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi in college for students, and phones are banned in college. An extra fee will be charged in the name of exam fees. First, you clear your dues, then you will sit in the exam, and if you don't attend the exam, a fine of 500/1000 per subject will be applicable. This feels like it's school, not college. Or the 2nd-year fee is paid in the 1st year.

Faculty: Yes, teachers are qualified and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is average. The course was curriculum-relevant, but it does not make students industry-ready because there is no practical knowledge for students. So, where they can be ready for the industry, it’s not bad.

SDS University Uttarakhand offers placement assistance to the students. The first placement drive at Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University State University was organised in 2022 in which 78 students participated. A total of 34 candidates were selected for ICICI Bank by Gurgaon's placement agency NIIT. The second placement drive was organised in 2023 in which 60 students participated, 21 students were selected by Gurgaon's placement agency NIIT Limited for the post of Executive in ICICI Bank.
