Career opportunities in B.Sc. (Hons.) Agribusiness Management by Dr. Shubhaom Panda Assistant Professor, Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, Sri Sri University

August 16, 2024:  B.Sc. (Hons.) Agribusiness Management presents a wide range of opportunities for students' career growth. Recognizing the scope and importance of this course, the Government of India's New Education Policy (NEP), 2020, has identified B.Sc. (Hons.) Agribusiness Management as a distinct course under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Currently, this program is offered in states like Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Punjab, and Maharashtra. While many universities offer MBA or PGDM (Agribusiness Management) degrees, some renowned universities in Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Punjab, and Maharashtra provide B.Sc. (Hons.) Agribusiness Management. This course is designed to equip graduates with the skills to secure jobs in this dynamic field and start their own agri-enterprises.

The government has launched various schemes with subsidies and opportunities for agribusiness graduates and post-graduates. Notably, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has started recruiting Assistant Managers (Agribusiness Management) with a required qualification of a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Business Management. Agribusiness degree candidates are also sought after by top organizations like FCI, NFL, RCFL, NSC, HIL, NAFED, ICAR, agricultural universities, and leading agri-input and output-based companies. Higher education in Agribusiness Management has vast scope both nationally and internationally. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, offers a Post Graduate Programme in Food and Agri-Business Management, while IIM Lucknow offers a Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management. Many other renowned institutions provide postgraduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral degrees in Agribusiness Management. Although agribusiness education is still in its early stages, it has begun its successful journey. Graduates with this B.Sc. (Hons.) Agribusiness degree will gain a competitive advantage in the job market.

Sri Sri University Organises National Car Festival Service Camp

June 26, 2023: Sri Sri University's three basic values are Learn, Lead, and Serve. The active engagement and participation of students in activities and projects that benefit society is encouraged. Sri Sri University students have organised clean-up campaigns and hygiene clinics, planted trees, raised awareness of climate change and mental health, and made constructive contributions to the villages nearby. The Rover and Ranger Unit of Sri Sri University generously offered their assistance for different organisational and security facets of the renowned Puri Rath Yatra in the same vein. This festival is attended by hundreds of thousands of people every year, and we are pleased that our students provided the state government with excellent support. With Lord Jagannath's blessings, our pupils are growing into strong nation builders with well-rounded personalities, bright minds, and kind hearts, and we are extremely happy and honoured of this.

June 14, 2023: Sri Sri University has ranked under the bracket of 51-100 under the ARIIA Ranking for 2023 among Private Universities. SSU Innovation Foundation, the incubation centre of SSU, provides dedicated mentoring and handholding support such as; Idea validation, Product development, IPR, Legal entity registration, investor readiness, seed funding and investor linkage to the budding student and alumni entrepreneurs. This accolade is for Sri Sri University's proactive approach towards Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development.

Sri Sri University Organises National Level Programme "Shakti: The Power Within”

January 09, 2023: On January 6, 2023, #SriSriUniv successfully held the national-level programme "Shakti: The Power Within" in association with FICCI FLO Mumbai to honour and motivate female entrepreneurs. The event's Chief Guest, Dr Omkar Rai, Executive Chairman of Startup Odisha, was a pleasure to host. Rai thanked Sri Sri University Innovation Foundation for spearheading the startup movement in Odisha in his speech. Speaking about the variety of startups in Odisha, he said that because of the enthusiastic support from investors, the state's startup ecosystem has matured to a point where it is ready for the establishment of the FICCI FLO Odisha Chapter. He also commended #SriSriUniv's administration for taking on this joint venture.

Speaking to the crowd, Tehmina Khandwala, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Mumbai, stated that it is really encouraging to see women succeed in our society, which still has gender inequality. She applauded the dedication and excitement of #SriSriUniv in encouraging female-led enterprises. Our Hon'ble VC Prof. BR Sharma addressed the crowd and read a lovely poem he had written especially for the occasion.

Women have left their mark on both time and space with their grace and strength; We are informed that the leaders and trailblasers of today descended from ancient queens and brash deities; Women have made significant contributions to science, art, and literature; From Gargi Maitri through Savitribai Phule, their influence and impact have grown; Women excel in families and communities as mothers, sisters, and friends; They provide a steady source of light, guidance, and nurture day and night; So let's honour the contributions that women have made and will continue to make; their courage and fortitude serve as an inspiration to all of us to stand up and affect change, both large and little.

Our Honourable President Prof. Rajita Kulkarni praised Dr Omkar Rai for creating a vibrant startup environment in Odisha and referred to FICCI FLO as the best catalyst and accelerator for the women's entrepreneur ecosystem in the presidential address. Speaking of the university, she stated that #SriSriUniv has very nearly achieved gender parity, and this event aims to both honour current female entrepreneurs and provide inspiration for upcoming female business owners. She also exhorted all women to embrace their inner Shakti in order to seek for, seize, and then share their power.
