Yes, admissions STAREX university are entrance and merit  based. The students need to qualify in the cut off in order to take admissions. There may be some courses which do not require entrance exams, but for courses like BTech and MBA entrance exams are compulsory. BTech admissions are done on the basis of scores of exams like JEE. MBA admissions are done on the basis of scores of CAT etc. So in order to take admissions favorable scores in the entrance exams are desired.

Although there are many courses available to pursue at STAREX University, but BTech and MBA are the top courses here. Courses like Msc., BPharma etc. are also available but the ROIs for these courses are not good. The fees of the courses are very high. The placement packages are also not so good, so BTech and MBA are the top courses of this college which provides a decent  return on fees invested. 

STAREX University is moderately costly if we see other factors side by side. The B.Tech fees at this University is around INR 3.2 lakh- 4.8 lakh and the MBA fees is also around INR 3 lakh. It can be said that the fees in not too much expensive but is expensive. Other colleges charge less fees than this as offer better ROI than this university. The average package offered is INR 10 LPA and average is INR 3 LPA. Seeing the return on fees invested, it's okay. So if  a student is trying to pursue any course from this university he/she should consider other factors also such as Facility, Infrastructure etc. and feedback from current students should also be taken.
