Yes, anyone can pursue B.Ed course at Uttarakhand University in distance learning. Candidates who are willing to get admission to this course must fulfil the minimum educational requirements of the course. The minimum eligibility is to pass a UG or PG degree with minimum 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories) or UG degree in Engineering with minimum 55% aggregate from a recognised university.

BSc admission in Uttarakhand Open University takes place through the merit secured in Class 12 exams. Candidates applying for admission into the programme will have to make sure they get a passing grade in Class 12 to be eligible for admission into the programme. Once the results of the exam are out candidates can apply for the programme through the institute website. Uttarakhand Open University (also known as UOU Haldwani) was established in 2005. UOU courses are recognised by Distance Education Council (DEC) and UGC. UOU Haldwani consists of a total of 14 schools in different streams of education.
