VTUEEE Exam Pattern 2026: The exam body, Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R and D Institute of Science and Technology, prescribes the pattern and mentions it in its official notification PDF. Candidates must have information about the VTUEEE exam pattern before appearing for the exam. The exam pattern consists of the sections, time duration, and marking scheme of the exam on which the VTUEEE question paper will be based. The test will be conducted in online as well as offline, and the exam pattern will be the same for online and offline exams.

According to VTUEEE exam pattern the there is no negative marking allowing students to attempt all questions without the fear of losing marks for wrong answers.

Q:   How many questions are in VTUEEE question papers?

VTUEEE question papers has 90 questions in MCQ format, out of the 90 questions, 30 each are from Physics, Chemistry and Maths respectively.

VTUEEE 2026 Exam Scheme

The exam pattern of VTUEEE 2026 is somewhat similar to the JEE Main exam pattern. Therefore, if a candidate is preparing for JEE Main, then it will be easy for him/her to understand the exam pattern. Check the details of the VTU exam pattern 2026 below.

  • Number of Sections: In the VTUEEE exam, there will be three parts, namely A, B, and C, comprising the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics questions.
  • Number of Questions: Each section will have 30 multiple-choice questions (MCQ), which means there will be one correct answer out of the four given options.
  • Duration: Candidates will get 3 hours (180 minutes) to solve the question paper.
  • Mode of the exam: Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Pen and Paper Test (PPT). Candidates can choose the mode of the exam while filling out the VTUEEE application form at their convenience.
  • Language: The question paper will be provided in the English language only.

Yes, the VTUEEE question paper remains same for both online and offline modes of the exam. Candidates will not have to prepare separately for the exam.

Q:   What is the time duration of the VTUEEE exam?

As per VTUEEE exam pattern, the total time allotted to the test is 3 hours. There are no sectional time limits, so candidates can attempt questions in any order.

VTUEEE 2026 Marking Scheme

  • VTUEEE question paper is held in multiple choice format and each question carries four marks
  • There are 3 sections, and each section is of 120 marks, making the total marks to 360
  • There is negative marking and for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted
  • There will be no deduction if question is left unattempted
  • If a candidate fills more than one response it will be treated as wrong answer and negative marking will be imposed

Note: Students who secured first rank in +2 conducted by respective States will get direct admisison into course of their choice. However, eligibility will also be taken into consideration. They will also get a full scholarship to the value of 100% of tuition fee and hostel fee for entire duration of course.

The Vel Tech University Engineering Entrance Exam in short known as VTUEEE is conducted by the Vel Tech Deemed University, located in Chennai to shortlist candidates for admission in to B.Tech courses.

Q:   Is the VTUEEE mandatory to take admission into Vel Tech?
A: 

The VTUEEE is one of the key routes to take admission into Vel Tech. However, students can also gain admission based on JEE Main scores or their performance in Class 12, subject to university policies. If they have better scorss in JEE Main, they will get priority. There will be counselling for the same to ascertain the candidate is suitable for which course.

Q:   What is the mode of VTUEEE exam?

The VTUEEE exam is conducted in both online (CBT) and offline (pen-and-paper) modes, depending on the phase and test center preferences. If candidates apply in online mode they will have to appear in the exam in online mode, if they buy the prospectur from the college campus, they can appear at the exam in offline mode at the college campus.

Candidates qualiftying in the VTUEEE exam will be eligibile to take admission into various B.Tech programs at the college campus in specialisation such as Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering, among others.

VTUEEE is expected to be conducted in two phases: Phase I will be typically held in January, and Phase II will be held in April.

No, there is no difference in syllabus or VTUEEE pattern across various phases of the exam. The VTUEEE syllabus and exam pattern remain the same across both phases.

Q:   Is VTUEEE syllabus same as the JEE Main exam?
A: 

The VTUEEE syllabus while similar, is considered slightly easier than the JEE Main. However both the exams follow the same CBSE/NCERT syllabus for PCM subjects. The JEE Mains question papers are a bit difficulty and are tuned on moderate to difficult level as comapred to VTUEEE.
