The TNEA 2025 dates are out. Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu has started the application process for TNEA 2025. The full schedule can be checked on the official website. Candidates can check the important TNEA 2025 dates like registration dates, random number release dates, Certificate verification dates, rank list release dates and counselling dates. The counselling rounds will include steps like Choice Filling, Allotment, Confirmation of Allotment, and Reporting to the College/TFC and payment of fees. 10+2 passed/appearing candidates can apply for TNEA counselling. Admission will be based on marks obtained by the candidates in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths Physics and Chemistry which will be reduced to 200 Maths 100, Physics 50 and Chemistry 50). .

TNEA 2025 Random Number was relesaed on June 11. Registered candidates have to sign in by entering login Id/email Id and password to view their unique random number allotted by the authority. The conducting body also informs all the registered candidates about the assigned random number of TNEA 2025 through SMS. The random number will be a 10 digit number that will be allotted to the candidates randomly. Candidates have to verify their documents at TFCs as per their assigned TNEA random number.

How to check TNEA Random Number?

1. On the official website of TNEA 2025
2. Navigate to the candidate login page
3. On the login page, enter your email ID/login ID, password, and captcha code
4. The TNEA random number will be displayed on the screen
5. View your random number and save it for future references.

The TNEA 2025 document verification at the TFC was held from June 10 to 20. The uploaded certificates are subjected to verification at the TFCs selected by the candidates in the online application form. The Certificate uploading and verification procedure is intimated after the completion of the registration process. While verifying the documents uploaded during TNEA 2025 registration, candidates have to follow the following steps:

If the status shown is Incomplete, candidates have to scan all the required certificates as a single pdf file and upload it.

After uploading they must freeze the upload and logout.

If the status shown is 'upload not completed and Upload status as Not started', scan all the certificates as a single pdf file and upload.

After uploading freeze the upload and logout.

If the status shown is 'In Progress', it indicates that Certificate verification is under process.

If the status shown is 'Completed successfully', then it indicates that Certificate verification is completed successfully for that Application.

TNEA counselling is a Unified Single Window Admission System for Indian Nationals only. The courses offered via this online counselling are BE/BTech and BE (sandwich) courses. TNEA counselling is conducted online in 4 rounds as per the Schedule. Candidates need to participate in corresponding rounds based on their rank.

The TNEA choice filling dates will be announced on the official website of TNEA, tneaonline.org. candidates will be able to fill in their choices of colleges and courses as per their TNEA 2025 rank.

Check below the steps on how to fill choices in TNEA 2025 counselling: Add/Remove Choices: Candidates have to choose carefully their preferences for getting a seat in a branch in an institution. Based on the availability of seats, rank, and community, candidates will be allotted. Candidates must prepare a list of choices in the order of preference to enter the choices in the order preference correctly and quickly. Choice Entry and Locking of Choices will be available for 3 days, 3rd day until 5.00 pm. All the above processes can be completed from anywhere, from your home if you have a facility or you can avail of the facility of TFC. Choice Entry and Locking of Choices (3 days, 3rd day until 5.00 pm. Adding choices - On the top Navigation Bar, candidates will SEE the link for Add Choices. Using this, candidates can create a list of branches and colleges. This choice list or preference list should finally be in the order of candidate preference. By clicking, add choices, the following screen will appear on the screen. Choice by District Entering the name of the District in the list box field Choice by Branch Name Entering the name of the Branch Name in the text box field Choice by College Code Entering the name of the College Code in the text box field Choice by College Name Entering the name of the College Name in the text box field.

A candidate will have a three-day window to fill out their choices in TNEA counelling, during which they must select preferred colleges and branches. The order in which the choices are ranked is crucial. Candidates are free to choose as many options as they wish, with no restrictions on the number of choices they can make.

If a candidate do not lock the choices filled by them in TNEA counselling then the choices will automatically be locked at the end of the choice filling deadline.

Yes, candidates seeking admission in BE/ BTech courses have to register for TNEA Counselling after completing Class 12. Aspirants are alloted seat in the programme based on their Class 12 score during the TNEA Counselling. Once the seat is alloted, candidates have to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the institute. 

Here are the steps to check the TNEA 2025 rank list:

1. Go to the official TNEA 2025 website: tneaonline.org
2. Click on the 'Rank details' link.
3. You will see a list of category-wise rank list PDFs on the screen.
4. Select the category you belong to.
5. The rank list will be displayed in PDF format on your screen.

The overall rank and community-wise rank lists are available on the official TNEA website, tneaonline.org. Candidates can check their ranks in the TNEA rank list PDF based on various categories uploaded on the official website.

TNEA 2025 rank list will be out on June 27. The rank / merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths Physics and Chemistry which is reduced to 200, Maths -100, Physics - 50 and Chemistry - 50. After the normalisation of marks in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by different Boards, the qualified students shall be merged into a common merit list. The overall rank and community rank are published on the official TNEA website. A week is reserved for addressing applicants grievances after the publication of the rank. The TNEA 2025 merit list is based on a total score of 200. In cases where candidates have the same marks, the inter-se merit will be determined using the following criteria:

1. Percentage of marks in Mathematics
2. Percentage of marks in Physics
3. Percentage of marks in the optional subject
4. Percentage of total marks in the 12th Standard Examination
5. Date of birth (with preference for older candidates)
6. Random number (higher value given preference)

The overall and community-wise rank lists can be found on the official TNEA website. College and branch allotments will be provisional and conducted online, based on candidates' choices, overall rank, and community rank. No separate announcements will be made in newspapers.

The selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained in the prescribed subjects reduced to 200 (Mathematics:100, Physics + Chemistry 100) in the qualifying examination. The marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various Boards or Authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu by adopting the method of normalisation.

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) exam is open to Andhra Pradesh students, but some requirements must be met. TNEA is mostly used for Tamil Nadu engineering college admissions, however, it is also available to applicants from other states. Nonetheless, students from non-Tamil Nadu are usually categorised under the "Other State Quota." Achieving the minimum qualifying scores and passing your 12th-grade exam with the necessary topics (mathematics, chemistry, and physics) are among the requirements for eligibility. Additionally, you must apply within the application window via the official TNEA portal and provide the required paperwork, including evidence of identity, proof of domicile, and your educational credentials. 

To apply for TNEA 2025, candidates have to meet the below requirements: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates). They should have passed the 10+2 exam from Tamil Nadu board or any equivalent board. They must have cleared any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) with one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. Apart from that, they following requirements must be also met: Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed their Class VIII to Class XII standard in Tamil Nadu. Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of TNEA application form submission. Sons/daughters of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers. Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions who at the time of TNEA 2025 application form submission had been working in their organisations for the past five years are also eligible to apply, irrespective of their domicile. Other state candidates who have studied from Class VIII to Class XII in Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA 2025. Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standards or their equivalent examinations from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA.

Domicile residents of Tamil Nadu should have Qualified 8th,9th,10th, and 10+2th standard in the state. If the domicile Residents have completed above standard from Outside the state, then they will also be eligible provided They bring their copy of Navity Certificate. Children of government employees whose parents have been serving the state for the past 5 years from the Day of application will also be eligible even if they are not domicile residents. The children of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers will also be termed eligible for Admission.

Yes, a Diploma holder candidate can apply for the TNEA examination. However, they have to complete their three years of engineering Diploma after class 12th with 50% aggregate score to be eligible to do so. Also, it is mandatory for the candidate to have completed the 12th grade before appearing in the examination.
