UPTAC Counselling Dates 2026: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) is conducting the UPTAC counselling based on JEE Main ranks for admission to various first-year and second-year UG courses offered by all institutions affiliated to/constituent of AKTU and other state universities. The UPTAC counselling 2026 registrations have commenced at uptac.samarth.edu.in. The last date to apply is June 15. The complete schedule of the counselling process is out. There will be four main rounds, 1 internal sliding round and 2 special rounds this year.
UPTAC 2026 counselling dates include a detailed schedule for UPTAC 2026 registration, document verification, choice filling, and seat allotment. UPTAC Counselling 2026 Registration Date
Registration: 25 May ' 26 - 15 Jun ' 26
The UPTAC counselling application process started on May 25. The UPTAC 2026 counselling registration process starts with registration with JEE Main 2026 application number (or applicable entrance exam application number), name, mother's name, date of birth and gender. They then have to enter their personal and entrance exam details, ensuring all information is accurate since no corrections are allowed after submission. After uploading a scanned photo, signature, and required documents, the candidate must pay the fee online via card or net banking to complete the process.

- Candidates who have not deposited seat acceptance/confirmation fees in the first and second phases.

UPTAC Counselling Choice Filling and Locking Dates 2026
The UPTAC choice filling process means filling in the preferences of colleges and courses by the candidates where they want to get admission. The choice filling process will start on June 22 for round 1.
To participate in choice filling, candidates must log in to the UPTAC portal using their JEE Main credentials. They are permitted to list an unlimited number of college and branch combinations based on their eligibility and rank. Because the system assigns seats automatically based on merit and the order of these preferences, applicants must carefully prioritise their selections.

Passed 10+2 examination and obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the subjects taken together.

Passed D.Voc stream in the same or allied sector.
Yes. Candidates filling the Online UPTAC Application Form are required to upload scanned images of his/her the latest color photograph and signature. Application forms having blurred photographs are liable to be rejected. Therefore candidates must be careful while uploading the scaneed images of their photo and signature in the UPTAC 2025 registration form.
UPTAC 2026 Seat Allotment Date
After the UPTAC choice filling process is over, the UPTAC 2026 seat allotment process is done based on merit and the JEE Main ranks of the candidates. The seat allotment dates vary based on each counselling round. The UPTAC seat allotment result is made available under the respective login of the candidates on the website - uptac.admissions.nic.in.
After a seat is assigned, candidates can view their allotment by logging into their portal. Candidates must then choose to either freeze (accept) or float (keep for a better option) the seat by paying the acceptance fee. Once paid, the status will update to show the chosen preference for the upcoming counselling rounds.

The candidates who become eligible for UPTAC counselling round 2 are:
- Such candidates who have registered and deposited the registration fee but have not filled any option in the first phase.
- Such candidates will not be allowed to fill in new options or modify options. The previously allotted seat (institute, course and discipline) will remain the same and can be upgraded to their allotted category as per the rules.
- Such candidates will be allowed to modify their options. The seat allotted prviously will stay. They will be considered eligible for seat upgrades. If the candidate does not make any changes in the options, then the options of Phase-1 will be considered final for Phase-2.
- Candidates who have registered, paid registration fees and filled options but have not been allotted any seat in the previous phase will be allowed to modify their options. If no changes are made to the options filled earlier by the candidate, then the options of Phase-1 will be considered as the final options for Phase-2.
The last date to apply for UPTAC 2026 counselling is June 15.
UPTAC 2026 Seat Confirmation Date
After the allotment of seats in the UPTAC counselling process, candidates have to freeze of float their allotted seat. The meaning of freeze and float is given below:
- Freeze: A candidate who chooses to "freeze" accepts the seat and does not want to participate in further rounds of seat allotment. In case of 'freeze' of the allotted seat, the candidate will not be included in the next stages of counselling for the upgradation of the seat, but the category of their allotted seat can be upgraded/changed in the next stage.
- Float: A candidate who chooses to "float" keeps their allocated seat but remains eligible for further rounds of counselling. Candidates who choose the "float" option are considered for upgradation.
Candidates who do not accept the seat, i.e. do not pay the seat acceptance fee, will be disqualified from counselling and will not be allowed to participate in any further stage of the counselling process.

UPTAC 2026 Counselling Dates for Document Upload and Verification
The following documents must be uploaded after UPTAC counselling registration:
- Academic documents: Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and passing certificates, relevant entrance exam admit card and scorecard, and transfer certificate or migration certificate

If any document/declaration submitted in UPTAC counselling is found invalid or false at any stage, then admission of the candidate will be cancelled. They may also be liable for legal procedures. In case of any legal dispute, the jurisdiction will be limited to Lucknow courts only.

To claim the advantage of reserved categories, sub-categories, rural weightage etc. candidate is required to fill/select appropriate field in the Application Form. Yes, students have to participate in UPTAC Counselling if they want to get admission through the government quota at SRMS IBS. The institute selects students on an entrance + counselling basis mainly. Unless applying through the management quota, counselling is required.
