There are a total of four hostels (two each for boys and girls) belonging to the college, which are situated within three kilometres of the college.

The IT lab at Welingkar Institute, Mumbai is adequate enough to take in around 100 students at any given time.

The Mumbai campus of Welingkar Institute of Management is located in a relatively tranquil area of Matunga, which lies in South Mumbai. The campus, spread across 3.9 acres, comprises one huge six-storeyed building which has both an underground parking facility as well as a terrace on the top floor, which is mainly utilised for the farewell parties and occasional yoga practice sessions. It is not only situated at a prime location but is also well-connected with all modes of transport, ensuring travel is as hassle-free as possible.

Facilities Available at the Campus

The college offers a lot of amenities in order to ensure the students’ stay becomes as comfortable, enriching and enjoyable as possible. The facilities include Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the campus, spacious and air-conditioned classrooms, IT labs, a cafeteria, a library (storing an exhaustive reading material for both academic as well as industry-related) reading room, conference room and innovation lab, among others. The academic library, located in the basement, is known for hosting over 40,000 books on several concepts of management. The reading room, right above the academic library can accommodate about 50 students at a time, with some rooms allotted for valuable and distraction-free brainstorming. The IT lab is adequate enough to take in around 100 students at any given time. The in-house canteen, located on the ground floor opposite the college entrance, accepts digital payments only. There are multiple seating arrangements outside each class across floors which have charging ports too.

Sports and Wellness

Welingkar also ensures that all its students not just stay focused mentally but physically and spiritually as well. There is a small hall dedicated only to yoga, along with a gymnasium and an indoor sports area where one can play carrom, billiards and table tennis. However, it should be noted that the indoor play area lacks good ventilation. The gymnasium, for both boys and girls, is made up of state-of-the-art equipment such as treadmills, stationary bikes, skipping ropes, etc. Those who participate in the annual college cricket tournament named “IMPACT” get to practice at the nearby ground of the Matunga Gymkhana.

Hostel Facilities

There are a total of four hostels (two each for boys and girls) belonging to the college, which are situated within three kilometres of the college. These hostels, located in a relatively peaceful location, comprise amenities such as continuous internet connectivity, a study table, good transport connectivity to the college, etc. The hostel fees usually range from INR 90,000 to INR 150,000, applied on a yearly basis. The registration process is done online and on a first come first serve basis due to the limited availability, with outstation students getting the first preference. The hostel accommodation type is double occupancy i.e., two students sharing one room, with both non-AC and AC room options available. The mess facility isn’t included in the hostel fees. One must also pay a security deposit of INR 5,000, which is refunded at the end of the course. The mess provides both veg and non-veg meals at affordable rates. However, there is no compulsion to avail it.

Transportation Facilities

There are no transportation facilities provided by the college. However, the public transport is affordable, and Welingkar enjoys good connectivity via road, rail and air. Both localities and outstation students can easily reach the college without much fuss since it is located quite close to Matunga railway station (a five-minute walk), a short two-minute drive from Dadar railway station, a short walk away from the highway, and a 30-minute drive from the domestic airport.

In conclusion, Welingkar Mumbai not only offers a plethora of opportunities for its students to make the most of their MBA journey but also provides them with numerous amenities to see to it that those chances are grabbed and well-utilised.
