GD Goenka School of Fashion & Design showcased ‘GD Goenka Collettivo 2019’ at Times Fashion Week
GD Goenka Collettivo 2019, the graduation collection of students of School of Fashion & Design, GD Goenka University, was showcased on 7th April 2019 at Delhi Times Fashion Week held at Roseate House, Aerocity, New Delhi. A total of ten collections designed by senior students of the school walked the ramp to a packed audience consisting of fashionistas, industry representatives, special invitees, fashion journalists, bloggers, parents of graduating students as well as faculty of the school and management of the university. The collections were well received by the audience and positive feedback was given by all those who witnessed the show.
GD Goenka University has partnered with Times Fashion Week to provide a professional platform for students to kick-start their career as fashion designers and professionals. The first edition of GD Goenka Collettivo, as the show is known, was held in January 2018 and this is the second time that such an event is being held. “We believe in giving our students the best opportunities offered by the industry in order to promote them as professionals”, said Mr Nipun Goenka, MD, GD Goenka Group. “Students are encouraged to create works that are at par with industry standards”, said Prof Sasi Gopal Menon, Dean of the school.
The partnership is expected to continue in the future and will provide the best opportunity to students of fashion design to show their work alongside established professionals and known names in the industry. Very few institutions provide such a platform for their students and GD Goenka University is definitely proud to be one them.
