Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology: Workshops and Projects
KNIT, Sultanpur is an autonomous technical education institute affiliated with Lucknow's Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. It is one of the leading technical institutions in the region, with all the accreditations and approvals by the government.
Workshops and training sessions
KNIT, Sultanpur has a workshop centre spread over a large area, which includes all the necessary amenities in various shops. The institute has fitting, carpentry, blacksmith, foundry, sheet metal and sand testing shops. Besides this, KNIT also has an excellent machinery shop that includes many state-of-the-art machines of industrial standard, including the EDM. The workshop centre has also been modernised under the TEQIP programme, assisted by the World Bank.
As a technical education institute, KNIT, Sultanpur provides its students with technical training that will prepare them for future opportunities. Regular training and workshop sessions brush their skills and make them industry-ready in this competitive scenario. As per the norms of AICTE, the college provides various training and workshop sessions for the students to keep them on the ball since the beginning of their third semester (2nd year). To keep the students up-to-date and on track, the college provides various certificate courses on up-to-the-minute technical topics as per the students’ desires.

Seminars and conferences are also organised for students to gain a broader understanding of the topics. A few seminars and conferences held for the students of KNIT, Sultanpur are listed below:
- International Conference on Advanced and Agile Manufacturing Systems-2015-organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering
- International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical, Electronics, and Sustainable Energy Systems (ICETEESES-16)-organised by the Electrical Engineering Department
- The 2nd National Power and Energy Systems Conference (NPESC-2015) was organised by the Department of Electrical Engineering.

Projects and research
Projects play a major role in the curriculum for the students at KNIT. Students need to work on and complete the projects given during every semester to achieve a good overall score and obtain an internship opportunity or placement in the future. The following are the titles of the few projects carried out by the students till now:
- The Design and Fabrication of a Solar Green House Food Dryer
- The Experimental and Theoretical Analysis of Green Roofs
- The performance improvement of a cold storage plant using phase change material (PCM)
- Fluid flow and heat transfer microspores membrane experimental investigation
- An experimental and theoretical investigation of a double slope solar still with a single basin
- The loss minimization in VSI-fed PMSM Drive’
- The Harmonies and non-linear load compensation using STATCOM
