I am Rakshitha, 18 and eagerly awaiting my 19th birthday for some reason. There isn’t much to say about me. My head is filled with things I want to say to the world, out loud, but none of them truly capture who I am as a person. But I'll try. I like reading—not the "productive" kind of reading nor the "fake hobby that I use for all my profiles to seem decent" reading. Just reading for fun, mostly fiction, mostly romance. Besides that, I enjoy sleeping and being lazy. However, my little brain is quite passionate about the issues around me—issues that are relevant to everyone but are often ignored by those around me unless they are personally affected. I want to change that, and I know that change has to begin with me. I'd like to think it already has.

Q1. How did you choose your course of study in school (class XI-XII)? What made you choose BBA at City College Jayanagar?

As a child, I was always amused by the idea of being the boss and hated being told what to do. Call it narcissism, call it ambition—I just wanted to be hard to approach and, of course, rich. Owning a business seemed like the only way to achieve that, at least to me. A BBA seemed like the right option, so I went for it. Choosing City College was rather fortunate. I was exploring various colleges, and City College was a last-minute decision that I don't regret—at least for now. But who knows what the future might hold for me?

Q2. How you cracked admission at City College, Jayanagar? What all entrance test(s) did you give? Any coaching classes that you took for preparation? Any other colleges that you were trying out for? What challenges did you face while opting for this college?

Admission to City College was almost too straightforward and easy for me. I went in, filled out an application form, and had something resembling an interview at the admissions office. I remember liking the staff when I first walked in. As for entrance tests and coaching classes, I did none of those. I was trying to get into BGS Kengeri, but that didn’t work out, so I found City College. Speaking about challenges during admission, I faced little to none, really. The admission process went pretty smoothly. The only thing was that I was a nervous wreck experiencing something so new.

Q3. How you spend your time at college? Which classes do you like to attend? Which extra-curricular activities are you a part of in college? If given a chance, what else would you want to do? How has your college experience changed you as a person? What opportunities do you see in future?

College looked like a fever dream to the 15-year-old me. As I grew older, reality set in, and I realized it was nothing like "Happy Days," a prominent film in Tollywood about college and youth. I wanted that idealized version of college, but when I entered, it hit me—a rude awakening. I had assignments to complete, lessons to keep up with, socializing to do, drama to deal with (which I had never done or wanted to), and much more than just sitting and laughing in the canteen.

I am doing all that. As for extracurriculars, the clubs in our college play a significant role in keeping us active and learning outside the classroom. I participate in the literature, social media, music, and environmental clubs. Given a chance, I would love to bring up and participate in a filmmaking club. I want to write and possibly direct a film right here while I am in college. Big dreams, I know, but what’s there to lose?

I mostly enjoy attending English classes, while accounts are almost a pain for me since numbers and I just don't seem to align. Talking about myself, this college has taught me a lot about friendships and socializing. As a blunt introvert, I never used to tolerate people outside my comfort zone, but now I can talk to almost anyone with ease. Even when it feels uncomfortable, a part of me knows socialization is important, especially given the lengths I am trying to reach. To network like a pro, I need to handle dealing with my fellow college mates first.

In the past six months, I have seen and experienced more than I did in my entire high school because of this college and our director. I am confident that I will have much bigger opportunities, more space to learn, more space to network, and more space to grow and flourish.

Q4. What do you plan in future?

Going straight to the point, my future plan is to be crazy rich. I want to own as many income streams as possible and create something big. I want to have power—the kind of power that can reach depths of the world that no one else seems to care about. Call me selfish, but I want it all: the money, the reputation, the business, the brand, the luxury, and the love. I am not going to compromise on any of it.
