I Reason I Chose MES Abasaheb Garware College
MES Abasaheb Garware College is one of the prestigious colleges in Maharashtra. It has been my first choice due to its outstanding faculty, excellent infrastructure and a very diverse student community. The department has a special reputation through its curriculum, encouraging students to think critically and independently. The location of the college in Pune also played a significant role in my opting for this college, since the city has a rich academic as well as cultural atmosphere that inspires learning and exploration.
Political Science proved to be a fantastic decision when I took it up in this college. The college syllabus wasn't just bookish knowledge but made classroom teaching closer to actual implementation. There were debates on current issues, arguments over Policies and intelligent lectures on the models of governance prevalent in India as well as all around the world. All this has made me better informed, aware and assertive enough to speak for what I believe in.
My Inspiration and Admission Story
My decision of choosing this college involved extensive research and pieces of advice from my mentors and family. It was in high school when my interest in reading newspapers and watching debates on political issues caught my fancy.
Applying for admission was straightforward yet nerve-wracking. This college follows the merit system. Therefore, I prepared the application very carefully and ensured all my past records reflected sincerity. The day when my name appeared on the merit list, I felt pure joy.
My College Life
My life in the premises of Garware College was transformative. The classes are highly interactive and thought-provoking at the same time. There are passion-inspiring professors here who try their best to raise debate as well as discussions.
Apart from academics, I found a great extracurricular life at this college. The debate club was a wonderful platform in which I represented the college at the State and National levels. Such opportunities not only enhanced my confidence but also brought the learnings outside of textbooks into my life. The fests were also the annual highlights, in which many students from diverse departments came together.
My own haven was the college library. It had an impressive collection of books, journals, and research material. The library really did help me broaden my horizons. Not only the academics, but even the relationships that I developed here were quite enriching. Group discussions along with study sessions were also eye-opening; these opened one's mind to new ways of looking into complex political concepts.
Challenges and Personal Growth
College life initially seemed very tough as I had moved from the disciplined world of school to the more dynamic higher education world. But, thanks to the warm and affectionate environment of this college, I easily transitioned. Professors were always accessible to clear any doubts. With their guidance, I gained confidence in speaking out my thoughts in-class presentations and public speaking events.
College taught me time management. Balancing classes and assignments with other extracurricular activities pushed my abilities. It took a little time for me, but I mastered the priorities of tasks and made better use of the days.
Process in Admission
The admission process was quite simple but very competitive. There was no entrance exam required for my course; it was based purely on academic merit.
With all my goals and priorities, I kept all the required papers in order and joined pre-admission counselling organised by the college. These sessions removed confusion about the process, thus making a clear picture before me for my future endeavours.
Why I Would Recommend This College
Looking back, choosing this college has been one of the best decisions of my life. It is a combination of academic rigour, extracurricular opportunities and a supportive environment. My journey here did not only deepen my knowledge of Political Science but also prepared me for the challenges of the real world.
The college promotes the all-round development of students through encouragement to participate in sports, cultural activities and social initiatives. This makes it a special place to grow. Any student seeking an energetic college experience where learning extends beyond the classroom should look at MES Abasaheb Garware College.
Conclusion
My time at this college has been one of learning, self-discovery and growth. From the very principles of Political Science to the relationships that have formed for a lifetime, every moment here has contributed to my personal as well as professional development.
It was wonderful being appreciated and encouraged to grow in this institution where I learned from the best individuals in my field. I am always going to be grateful for the experiences I had at my college.
