The programme allows you to experience business operations in the actual world, says Shreya
I chose the Commerce path in high school since I am really interested in finance. Commerce is a particularly intriguing stream because it includes disciplines such as Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, Mathematics, and English, with Accounting and Business Studies being two of the most popular. Commerce is more about practical experience than theoretical knowledge. The programme does not confine you to the four walls of the classroom, but rather allows you to experience business operations in the actual world. Choosing the topic helped me become more aware of my surroundings and the changing work climate.
I am currently enrolled in JIMS Kalkaji - Jagannath International Management School. The institute has a high rate of placement with prominent recruiters. The institute is All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved and according to NIRF, it is one of the top 100 institutions in India.
Overall, I chose this college because I had heard so much about it from my family and friends, and I wanted to spend my college years there. The faculty and staff here are far too friendly and helpful. This place feels like a home.
I am a student of BCom (Hons) at JIMS Kalkaji. The programme has a great scope and brings a l lot of opportunities in both private and government sectors across sectors such as finance, economics, banks and corporates.

Cracking entrance wasn’t that tough because I never took this thing as pressure on my brain. I had a very positive and motivating environment for studying. I used to take breaks in between a good diet and a great sleep which kept me healthy. From the beginning only I preferred self-study and made my own notes because that was the best thing. I appeared for multiple entrance exams such as IPMAT, DU-JAT, SET, CUET, NTAT, IPU- CET. I cleared exams for colleges like Symbiosis and Christ University also but those colleges were not as worth as JIMS Kalkaji. I didn’t take any coaching for entrance exams because the syllabus for every exam was almost the same. The basic subjects were quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, general knowledge and English. I took the help of Youtube, Google and some specific books for the entrance test and they were more than enough. I was trying for DU-JAT also, but I couldn't get through, which sit right with me now as I fully enjoy my life.
As a fresher in this wonderful college, I meet so many friendly and helpful people and I actually look forward to the rest of my experience.
College life is considered a bridge in our lives between our school days and our career. It prepares us with the finest academics and platform to generate dreams into realities.
My experience as a fresher since I have joined Jagannath International Management School is mixed with fun, freedom, experiments, and responsibilities. There are many clubs and activities to do in our college and they all help us to learn new things regularly. It’s a great experience I spend most of my time there only. I am a part of many clubs and societies like social media, e-cell and pixellence society. They all are very interesting and help us to grow. Not only they teach us different skills but also how to do team work and manage things. If I ever got a chance i would love to be the part of theatre society and enhance my skills in that was how confronting the environment is, and how friendly and helpful our seniors are. It has provided me a space to grow and learn and today I am very confident about myself.
