New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE) is an autonomous institute, effective from August 2015, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The institute offers 20 UG, PG and doctorate degrees in the field of Engineering, IT, Software and Business Management. NHCE odd semester commences in November and the results for the same are declared in February. Soon after the semester exam, a make-up examination and fast track semester are conducted by the institute. The even semester exams are conducted in April and the results are declared in July. Post end semester examination, make-up examination and fast-track semester examinations are conducted.

NHCE Result 2020

NHCE declares the semester results on its official website. Students can check their end semester examination result by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NHCE (www.newhorizonindia.edu/nhengineering)

Step 2: On its homepage, click on result link available on the ticker

Step 3: The result login page opens up. Enter your roll number and hit the ‘Go’ button

Step 4: The semester score along with the result status will get displayed on the screen. You can download the result or take a printout of the same for future references

NHCE Evaluation 2020

The evaluation process of NHCE semester results is done in two parts:

  • Continuous internal evaluation (CIE): It is managed by the course coordinator and it consists of tests, assignments, and viva voce. Any student who scores less than 40 per cent will be declared as NSSR (Not Satisfied Sessional Requirement) - Weightage: 50 per cent
  • Semester end exam (SEE): It is conducted at the end of the semester and comprises both theory and practical paper. A student has to acquire a minimum attendance of 85 per cent and a minimum CIE aggregate of 40 per cent (UG); 50 per cent (PG) in each course to be eligible for SEE. - Weightage: 50 per cent

NHCE Grade Point Average:

The credit index can be used further for calculating the Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), both of which being important performance indices of the student.

  • SGPA: It is equal to the credit index for a semester divided by the total number of credits registered by the student in that semester
  • CGPA: It gives the sum total of credit indices of all previous semesters divided by the total number of credits registered in all these semesters

NHCE Eligibility for Next Semester Promotion:

  • A maximum number of ‘F’ grades that can be carried at the end of the academic year is four with minimum CGPA = 5.0. Else, the student is not eligible for the next academic year
  • If a student fails to get the passing letter grades (S to E) after five attempts in any of the courses then the student is declared as ‘Unfit for technical education’, in which case he cannot further continue their education in the institute

NHCE Revaluation 2020

For students who are not satisfied with their results of the current semester and want revaluation can fill revaluation form to get their answer book revaluated. In such a case, without considering previous marks, the University checks the copy of the student again. After the completion of the regular examination, the university publishes the notification regarding the revaluation process. Students need to download the result through the official website of the institute. Following steps helps the candidates to apply for revaluation:

Step 1: Visit the official result page of NHCE (newhorizonindia.edu)

Step 2: Enter your roll number and hit the ‘Go’ button

Step 3: Your semester result opens up. Scroll to the bottom of the page and clock on ‘Apply for Revaluation’ link

Step 4: Select the subjects for which you wish to apply for revaluation and hit the ‘Submit’ button

NHCE Reappear Exam 2020

Make-Up examination: It is conducted after SEE of odd and even semesters. A student who has obtained transitional grades due to lack of attendance or other factors are eligible to appear for the make-up examination and can secure letter grades for that particular subject. A student who fails to obtain letter grades is automatically given F grade for the respective subject. The student then needs to appear for ‘Fast track Semester Examination.’

Fast-track semester examination: Student who obtains ‘F’ grade in a particular course including absent/ NSSR/ NSAR in odd and even semester needs to appear for fast track examination for that particular subject only. Students can register for the examination with a maximum of 16 credits. Also, the student will have to attend the classes and take up the CIE once again. The examination is held between June-August.
