Over 125 students participate in GD Goenka Open Day
Prominent student counsellor, Ms. Usha Albuquerque, was invited to GD Goenka University in order to address the prospective students on the futures of their careers. The event began with the President Dr. Suku Bhaskaran introducing the Deans of the 12 different schools under the GDGU umbrella. Dr. Kim Menezes then introduced Ms. Usha and invited her to address the gathering in the well-appointed auditorium of the GDGU.
In her presentation, Ms. Usha began with an overall structure of careers today which excite students and also stressed upon the employability of each career. The session was interactive and prospective students asked relevant questions. She touched upon some of the most prestigious National and International career options for business communications, avionics, IT, Law design, architecture, engineering and many other careers some of which find a place in the 12 colleges in GD Goenka University. Over a period of more than an hour, Ms. Usha clarified all doubts and concerns of the participants. The speaker impressed upon the audience the necessity of analyzing each student’s love and passion for their subject of choice in order to achieve success anywhere in the world.
The session then progressed with the participants being taken by GDGU buses around the sprawling campus of 80 acres to showcase the incredible infrastructure of academic blocks, classrooms, laboratories, hostels, dining facilities, etc.
The tour ended with the participants having light refreshments in the college refectory and finally moving to the desks assigned to individual schools where faculty members from the schools provided the prospective students and their parents with specific details of the various courses offered and the prospects in the current and future industry.
