Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University started its journey in the year 1999 with an aim to provide education among the people of all classes. Its motto is to spread education beyond the barrier of age, category and geographical area. The university is named after the freedom fighter and educationist Bharat Ratna Rajarshi Purusottam Das Tandon Ji. It has been affiliated to UGC and AICTE.
