Why should you study Cloud Computing in these changing times
Cloud Computing Technology refers to the availability of computer system resources, specifically for data storage, networking and computing power on the basis of demand, exclusive of direct active management by the user. It generally refers to data centres available over the Internet to the users. It enables the development, implementation, maintenance and management of integrated computing service for commercial and corporate users. It also aids in providing solutions to major issues such as Big Data Management, CyberSecurity and Quality Control. It is one of the top five emerging technologies that will change and affect our lives in the near future. The NorthCap University realises its significance and offers a proper blend of theoretical and practical knowledge on cloud computing to its students.
The University aims at the overall development and growth of its students. It has a close association with the industry and delivers best in class practical knowledge and exposure to its students. It believes in developing abstract thinking and heuristic approach in students for enhancing their decision making and problem-solving capabilities. The University tries to equip its students with the required skill set for enhancing their employability. It also nurtures its budding entrepreneurs, by encouraging and motivating them to come up with new ideas and innovations in VC innovation fund and incubation cell.
The Cloud Computing Specialisation offered at The NorthCap University builds fundamental concepts and imparts an in-depth understanding of Cloud Computing and Virtualisation in its students. An industry-oriented curriculum has been designed with inputs from industry experts to prepare students for designing and developing cloud computing applications and services, that run on a distributed network by means of virtualised resources. These applications also directed to empower customers in accessing computing resources as per their requirements. The curriculum designed enables students to recognise the architecture and infrastructure employed in any cloud computing application or service including cloud service models such as Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and software-as-a-service (SaaS); and type of cloud service opted: public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud. The privacy and security aspects of Cloud Computing have also been given due consideration while designing the curriculum. The students are made familiar with basic cloud security challenges, software as service security and common standards followed in deploying any cloud computing application and service.
The NorthCap University has full-fledged labs for Cloud Computing specialisation with well-trained and experienced technical staff, and dedicated faculty members for guiding and motivating students. The labs are equipped with state-of-art technologies required for designing and developing applications and services related to cloud computing.
All the systems are regularly updated with the latest software and hardware patches for enabling students to be the same pace with changing trends in the market. The students are encouraged to think out of the box, and motivated to experiment with their designs and develop new applications.
The NorthCap university constantly wants to enhance the learning experience of its students, so it also utilises Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) which are offered through online learning platforms such as Coursera, SWAYAM, Udemy and EdX. This provides supplementary material to students for a more in-depth study. Faculty members are also encouraged to upscale themselves with the current state of art technologies through these courses and various faculty development programmes.
