Ten Preparation Tips for AP Intermediate Maths Exam
- Know the syllabus
The students should know the syllabus of Maths to formulate a plan This will help them in covering all the topics and completing the syllabus on time. The students can also set a target to cover major parts of the syllabus within the stipulated time.
- Understand the fundamentals
In-depth understanding of the fundamentals will help students to secure high scores in the board exam. Mathematics is a subject that includes a variety of complex numerical problems. Thus, to to obtain a high score in the exam, the students should try to get a grip on the subject by clarifying and understanding the basic concepts.
- Practise and Solve Problems
During the preparation, the students need to allot time to practise the complex problems daily. Practise a set of questions and try to complete the same within the specified time limit. The speed of solving questions will increase gradually with consistent practice. To improve the weak areas, the students should emulate the steps mentioned in the textbooks and then solve the same question or similar patterned questions.
- Avoid silly mistakes
There is a lot of calculation in Mathematics due to which the probability of making silly errors increase. This can be eliminated by practising questions regularly and also applying the right formulae to get the answer. Also, go through the steps and check the signs (addition, subtraction, etc.) used in each step after solving the questions. This will help in identifying any problems with the question-solving technique.
- Keep a note of important formulae
Look at the important formulae of every chapter, make a list on a separate notebook while practising, and revise these formulae frequently. This will help in saving time taken for solving a question.
- Solve previous year questions
The students should practise AP intermediate previous year question papers regularly as this will help in understanding the exam pattern as well as the type of questions asked in the exam. The students should also try to complete each previous year question paper within the prescribed time. This will help in enhancing speed and accuracy in the exam.
- Clarify the doubts
The students should always clarify their doubts with their teacher or friends, in case they are facing problem in solving a particular type of question to understand and rectify the mistakes on time.
- Maintain speed and accuracy
Maths is not a theoretical subject like others and involves a lot of calculations and methodic procedures to arrive at the right anseer. Therefore, the students need to practise questions daily to improve their speed and accuracy and score well. The more they practise sample question set, the better will be their speed of solving a question.
- Manage time effectively
Time management is crucial for students preparing for board exams. The students should focus on completing the paper by solving all the questions within the time frame. Once the exam commences, scan the paper to categorise the questions as per their difficulty level and start solving the questions accordingly. Also, in case, the student gets stuck on a particular question then they should move onto the next question instead of wasting time on that question.
- Prepare strategy
After completing the syllabus, the students should revise and practise questions daily. There is no one strategy for all kinds of scenario. Everyone must prepare a strategy based on the types of questions practised and understanding of concepts to manage time and solve the paper without any stress in the exam.
