VIT Vellore BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
VIT Vellore BTech is a full-time course offered across over 20 specialisations. Furthermore, the deemed-to-be-university offers sub-specialisations under Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical and Electronics & Communication as well. One of the BTech specialisations, namely Computer Science and Engineering- Business Systems is offered in collaboration with TCS.
Candidates' selection to VIT Vellore BTech courses is done based on merit in the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE). This entrance exam is conducted by VIT for admission to BTech courses offered at its different campuses. The candidates shortlisted based on exam scores have to participate in the counselling round for seat allotment. Students can read the VITEEE brochure 2025 to understand more about the exam.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% (50% aggregate for SC/ST/applicants hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North-Eastern states) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the qualifying examination (Class 12 or equivalent) from a recognised board. Candidates also need to fulfil the below-given criteria:
- Applicant must be a resident/ non-resident Indian National/ PIO
- Candidates having Mathematics/Physics/ Chemistry in Class 12 only are eligible for all the BTech
- Candidates need to pass Class 12 with Physics/Chemistry/Biology and English for admission to BTech Biotechnology, CSE Bioinformatics and ECE Biomedical Engineering.
NOTE: Candidates with their date of birth falling on or after July 01, 2000, are eligible to apply for UG Engineering admission (UGEA) 2022.

Vit Vellore course review.
Placements: About more than 300 students in my batch. The average package is about 6 LPA, and the highest is based on your performance, it may go up to 40 LPA. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and more. There are good placements if you have reached a certain criteria like completing the credit and internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the lab and classes is good. Wi-Fi is available in the hostel. In library it is available. The hostel facilities are good and the food is also good. If you're interested in sports, there is a chance you can play, and they give first preference to health in the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty are friendly and they help if you ask them, and the quality of teaching is good. The curriculum is relevant. The semesters are average, and if you study on a daily basis, it won't be a problem. The notes uploaded by the faculty are very helpful and good.

Good placements, good ROI of CAT 1, 2, and strict rules.
Placements: Placement percentage is very high, above 99. The highest package offered is 1 crore per annum, with a average of 9.9LPA. The lowest packages are 3.3 to 4LPA. Big companies like Google, Microsoft, Deloitte, Apple, etc visit the campus. Top roles offered in my course are software engineer, data analyst, data scientist, hr, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good in my college. Library with many books. Wi-Fi is decent, but only in the library and hostels. There are AC and non AC rooms available, and the room you get depends on your CGPA or your roommate CGPA. Food is sometimes good, sometimes not, depending upon what mess you take. We have a volleyball, gym, a tennis table, table tennis, a basketball, a swimming pool, and a big ground for football and cricket.
Faculty: There are 4 main exams conducted. CAT 1, CAT 2, lab fat and fat. Fat is the final exam. CAT 1 and CAT 2 are monthly, and the lab fat is the final exam for lab courses. CAT 2 is open book but the questions are hard. Again, some faculty members are very good, some are not. It really depends upon which faculty u take. There is a FFCS system using which you can decide which faculty to take and which slots in a day to take and customize your timetable.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in computer Science and engineering, and was fond of computers since childhood.

Well-maintained campus and great environment to learn and grow.
Placements: The highest package offered this year was around 1 crore per annum and the lowest package came around 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, and many other tech-based companies in India and abroad. Around 70% of students with a CGPA of 9 or above and good coding skills get internships. Mostly students land roles in the technical side itself as they develop.
Infrastructure: The Computer Science department is one of the largest in VIT and hence has been provided with the best facilities, such as well-equipped classrooms with SMART boards and internet connection. The rooms are large and spacious. The library here is not only big but also has a wide range of books available on every topic necessary. They even have self-serving kiosks, which can give us an idea of where the book is present. The hostel is well equipped, and they have good Wi-Fi, good food, AC, and non-AC rooms. Canteens and sporting areas are available as well.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified but can be hard to understand at times. They are very knowledgeable and can be really helpful. Course curriculum is relevant to industry standards, and the semester exams are mid-level. The pass percentage in our batch was pretty high, with at least 85%-90% of the class passing.
Other: It is an overall experience, it gives you great exposure, and shows you a new community of people who share the same interests as you. I chose this course out of my interest in technology since childhood. They could improve the faculty a bit more. Events and fests organized are wonderful. There are technical fests and plenty of hackathons and events for everyone.

Placements: In VIT Vellore, in our course, which has a high demand, more members are interested in joining this course. I got placed in Techmojo with an 11 LPA. The highest package of our course is 88 LPA, and the lowest is 9 LPA. More than 85% members are placed in our course, top recruiting companies are Zomoto, Phone Pay, Google, and Amazon.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our college is also good and is full of greenery, which gives fresh air, and hostels are also good on our campus. Every floor contains a speed Wi-Fi network, and classrooms are clean and neat, with well-maintained food in hostel that is healthy and of good taste.
Faculty: Our faculty members are highly talented and have good teaching skills. They are student-friendly, explanations are good, and all teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. This course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. Semesters are tough to get good marks in.

College facilities need to be improved due to the overflow of college crowd.
Placements: Around 75-80% of the students are placed in my particular course in the previous year. The highest package is around 85 to 90 LPA, and the average is honestly about 8.9 LPA. The lowest package was between 3.5 to 3.9 LPA, which includes many service IT companies such as TCS, HCL, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, etc. Around 62-65% of the students got internships from many major companies like TCS, HCL, and Infosys. Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure need to be improved, while the hostel rooms and the food in the mess are quite bad. They have to increase the quality of food, and the facilities are also not up to the mark compared to the high fees they are charging us.
Faculty: In most cases, there is little use of the teachers. The teachers are knowledgeable and qualified, and their teaching is also good. The course curriculum is a bit clumsy and might be confusing for freshers to adapt to these conditions. The semester exams are pretty decent, the papers are set based on the students so that they can answer at least 4-5 questions.
Other: I had a bit of interest in the fields of IT and software, so that’s why I chose this course. The course curriculum needs to be improved much better. The college organizes fests and events on a regular basis. The campus road is a big problem because the intake is growing each year, which is a bit concerning. They also offer many scholarships which might be useful.

Placements: The roles offered are Data analyst, Data Scientist, AI Engineer, ML Engineer, Data Engineer, SD Engineer, R&D, BI Developer, Quantitative analyst, Analytics engineer, Cyber security, Big data Engineer, NLP Engineer, Computer Vision Engineer, Statistician, Data Science intern, and ML Oops Engineer.
Infrastructure: Food is good when compared to other hostels. The fees are also affordable, and the infrastructure is good. Wi-Fi is good. The facilities of the hostel are good compared to others, and the budget and mess are somewhat better. Sports and games are good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and good, and some teachers are very hardworking. The course curriculum is relevant and good. Exams will be very strict, and they make students industry ready, and semester exams are easy. If u study a little hard sometimes, and the pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I loved the campus totally, but strict rules for girls, like outing timings and leave.
