Both LPU and Chandigarh University offer solid MBA programs, but LPU often stands out because of its industry‑aligned curriculum, practical exposure through internships and live projects, and active placement support. LPU's emphasis on soft skills, workshops, and industry interactions gives students a more career‑ready edge. If your goal is real‑world learning and broader exposure alongside the degree, LPU is a strong choice.

Honestly, the basic requirement to get into GIBS is pretty simple —
for BBA you need to finish 12th, and for PGDM/MBA you need to finish graduation.
That's it. No crazy conditions or anything.

From my experience, once you have the basic qualification, they mostly look at how interested you are, how you communicate, and whether you actually want to do management. Academic qualification is just the starting point, the rest is based on your vibe and interview.

Honestly, the hostel rooms in the new GIBS campus are pretty spacious. It's not that “tight hostel vibe” you usually imagine. You can keep your stuff, move around, and not feel suffocated.

And the common areas are big enough for everyone to chill — whether it's group study, gossip, or just scrolling reels with friends. Plus, because the new campus has a lot of greenery around, it feels nicer to just sit and relax there instead of being stuck in the room.

I'd say the overall vibe is comfortable and open, nothing cramped, nothing dull. Just the kind of space you'd actually enjoy living in.

GIBS doesn't have a strict cutoff like “you must have this exact CAT percentile.” It's more flexible and profile-based. Even students with average or mid-level scores got in, while people with good scores also choose GIBS for the practical learning, IRE, and placements.

So honestly, it's not just about CAT, it's more about overall fit, academics, interview performance, and interest in the PGDM program. I feel that makes it less stressful and more approachable for students.

GIBS is pretty chill when it comes to entrance exams because they accept almost all the common ones that students usually write. Like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, GMAT, ATMA, and even state CET scores are considered. So honestly you don't feel limited or stressed about writing only one specific exam. Most of us came through different entrance exams, and GIBS just evaluates overall profile also, not only the score, which I feel makes the admission process more flexible and student-friendly.

Weekends at GIBS are actually pretty fun. Sometimes there are sports matches going on, sometimes cultural stuff or club events, and sometimes it's just everyone chilling around campus. Mind Valley is one of those spots where people sit, talk, listen to music, and relax. It's a nice break after a packed week, and honestly the vibes are good because you get time to enjoy the campus, meet friends, and just unwind without rushing anywhere.
