Planning to take CAT? Go through advice shared by Vikkass on how you should prepare for the MBA entrance exam. Read more at Shiksha.

Selecting MBA as a desired course of study has been an easy choice for me. I have been blessed to be a part of a business family. I have seen and experienced first-hand, the art of managing people and how it helps to establish a successful business firm. What I have also seen is how bad management may destroy a company and along with it everyone attached to it.

Understanding the importance of management is what motivates me to excel at it

I selected my bachelor’s degree course because of my love for technology. I was always intrigued by how technology changes our lives. To understand it better and be closer to it, I chose Electronics and Communication as my field of specialisation in BTech.

Would I have done anything differently? We all have scope of improvement in whatever we do but to change any of my decisions will mean changing me. So, given the decisions I made are my alone and describes who I am, I can safely say that I won't change anything.

How I prepared for MBA Entrance Exam

CAT is a tough exam mainly due to competition as many students take the exam. How I studied for it will be a discouragement for many but if I state the truth then I did not go through any rigorous study schedules or hectic coaching classes for it.

I simply went to my office every day, came back home and slept. Yes, I never compromised my sleep. Adding to how one should prepare for this exam, my suggestion will be to read regularly to improve your verbal ability. It does not matter what you are reading. The idea is to read and understand what the author is trying to say. For Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) section just practice and solve as many questions as you can (although I did not but you should). Quantitative Aptitude (QA) is all about concepts and one should practice to solve such questions in pressure because it is of no use if we know everything but are not able to perform under exam pressure.

So, my only suggestion is – Keep calm and practice for CAT exam!
