Hi, I am Dhanaraj Shrishail Biradar, a Computer Science and Engineering graduate from Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Moodbidre. I enjoy playing chess, listening to music, swimming, and coding. I am curious by nature and currently interested in learning more about Data Science and exploring new areas that help me grow and learn.

Chapter 1. Describe in 200-300 words: How did you choose your course of study in school (class XI-XII)? What made you choose your current college/course (undergrad/post-grad)?

Choosing my course after Class X was one of the first important decisions I made about my future. At that time, I was still exploring my interests, but I knew that I enjoyed subjects that involved understanding ideas and solving problems. I preferred learning by understanding rather than simply memorising, so the Science stream felt like a natural choice for me. I also discussed my decision with my parents and teachers, whose guidance helped me feel more confident about taking that step.

After Class XII, I began thinking more clearly about the direction I wanted to take. I had developed an interest in computers and enjoyed exploring how they could be used to create and solve different things. This made me choose Computer Science Engineering for my undergraduate studies. It felt like a field that matched my interests and would keep me curious and engaged.

For college, I considered several practical factors, including the course, the learning environment, and the opportunities available to students. My parents also shared their views, which helped me look at the decision from different perspectives. I finally chose Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Looking back, I feel that each decision became clearer as I understood myself better. My choices were influenced by my interests, the advice I received, and my willingness to explore something new. My journey from school to college has helped me become more confident about the direction I want to take in life.

Chapter 2. Describe in 200-300 words: How you cracked admission in your current college? What all entrance test(s) did you give? Any coaching classes that you took for preparation? Any other colleges that you were trying out for? What challenges did you face while opting for this college?

Getting admission into my current college was an important step for me because it was the first major decision I had to make after completing Class XII. At that time, I was looking at different colleges and trying to understand which one would be suitable for me. I considered things such as the course, location, college environment, fees, and the opportunities available to students.

During the admission process, I went through the required procedures, checked the eligibility details, submitted the necessary documents, and completed the formalities. I also spent time discussing my options with my parents because their opinion was very important to me. Rather than making the decision in a hurry, I wanted to be sure that I was choosing a place where I would feel comfortable and have the chance to learn and grow.

Preparing for admission was not always easy. There was some uncertainty because I was moving from school to college and did not have much experience with such decisions. I also had to think carefully about expenses, distance from home, and whether I would be able to adjust to a completely new environment. These things made the decision a little difficult.

I had also looked into other colleges before making my final choice. After comparing the available options and discussing them with my family, I decided to join Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology. Looking back, the admission journey taught me that choosing a college is not only about getting a seat. It is also about understanding what feels right for you and being responsible for the decision you make.

Chapter 3. Describe in 300-500 words: How do you spend your time at college? Which classes do you like to attend? Which extra-curricular activities are you a part of in college? If given a chance, what else would you want to do? How has your college experience changed you as a person? What opportunities do you see in future?

My daily routine in college has never been exactly the same, but most days begin with attending classes and meeting my friends. I usually try to be attentive during the lectures, especially when the subject interests me. Between classes, I often spend time with my friends discussing assignments, projects, or sometimes just talking about what is happening around us. These small moments have become an important part of my college life.

After classes, I usually spend some time working on assignments, projects, or learning something on my own. I have always liked spending extra time on subjects that interest me, especially programming and problem solving. There have been many days when I started working on something thinking it would take only a short time, but ended up spending much longer because I wanted to understand it properly. At times it gets tiring, especially when assignments and other activities come together, but I have learned to manage my time better.

College has also given me opportunities to do things outside regular classes. I have participated in hackathons, taken part in cybersecurity activities, and been involved in different college events. I have also spent time helping other students learn programming and problem solving. Teaching others has been a very different experience for me because it made me realise that knowing something yourself and explaining it clearly to another person are two different things.

One thing I would like to do more in the future is explore activities outside my usual routine. I would like to meet more people, participate in more competitions, and take up experiences that push me out of my comfort zone.

When I look back at my first days in college, I can see a clear difference in myself. I have become more comfortable speaking to people, taking responsibility, handling problems on my own, and trying things even when I am not completely sure about them. College has given me many lessons that I could not have learned only through textbooks. I feel that these experiences have made me more independent and confident, and I hope to carry that growth with me into the future.

Chapter 4. What do you plan in future?

I want to build a good career, become financially independent, support my family, and keep learning while growing as a person.
