1.   1. What are the salient features of the teaching methodology adopted by your college? How does this differ from others?

Teaching methodology:

Our college follows an outcome-based teaching methodology that combines classroom teaching with practical learning, hands-on projects, industry interactions, workshops, hackathons, internships, and technology-enabled learning.

Difference from others:

We focus on experiential and application-oriented learning, helping students develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, innovation, and industry readiness.

2. How are you preparing your students to be Industry ready?

We prepare students for industry through hands-on projects, internships, sessions with industry experts, workshops, hackathons, certifications, coding/technical training, and real-world problem-solving activities. Students are also encouraged to develop communication, teamwork, leadership, and employability skills through continuous practical and experiential learning.

3. What are the qualities you are looking for in student applicants? What qualities do they need to do well in your course?

We look for students who have a genuine interest in learning, curiosity about technology, logical thinking, and a willingness to explore new ideas. To succeed in the course, students should be consistent in their studies, willing to learn through practical activities, able to work in teams, and open to improving their technical and communication skills.

4. How do you ensure that your course curriculum is up to date and meets industry requirements?

We regularly review the curriculum based on industry trends, emerging technologies, expert feedback, and current job requirements.

5. Is your college receptive to innovation, technology, science & entrepreneurship? How? Could you cite some examples of these?

Professor Harish Kunder is an experienced academician and researcher with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Generative AI, Cryptography, and Network Security. He currently serves as an Associate Professor and Head of Department at Alva’s Institute of Engineering & Technology, Moodbidri. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, along with B.E. and M.Tech. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering.

His research interests include AI/ML, deep learning, optimization, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. He has numerous research publications, patents, and research projects, and has received recognition for his academic and research contributions, including the Bhishma Acharya Award for Academic and Research Excellence – 2025.

He is actively involved in academic leadership, research, student mentoring, innovation, and institutional activities, and has also contributed as a reviewer for reputed journals and conferences.
