Diploma Engineering at its best!

Placements: Chemical Engineering, being a limited kind of branch is opted by a lesser number of students with respect to other branches like Civil and Mechanical. Around 5% of the total students of my college are in Chemical Branch. The highest package offered in Chemical Engineering was 2L per annum while the average is around 1.2L per annum and the minimum or the lowest package was around 1L. The top recruiting companies for my course are Dalmia Cement, Star Cement, Oil India Limited, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, etc. Almost 70% students from my course got internship in various sectors like Fertilizer, Pharmaceutical, Water Treatment Plant, etc. The top roles offered in my course include the technical know-how as well the practical knowledge. Being able to understand how a machine or mechanism works falls under the top roles offered my Chemical Engineering in my college.

Infrastructure: Projectors are present in every class. The classes are well-lit and properly ventilated. The labs posses every type of machine or instrument that is required for the practicals as per the curriculum. The quality is better than average. As the college infrastructure is not renewed recently, so the quality of the facilities are not of top-notch right now.

Faculty: The teachers are really friendly and helps in every sector. From solving doubts to the exploration of practical knowledge, the teachers helps the students a lot. Also, their teaching quality is quite appreciable. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant as it basically focuses on making the student ready for working in industries and plants. The semester exams are average. Actually, the teachers focus more on the practical side, so they don't usually invest their time on making the semester exams difficult. The pass percentage is 35%. .

Other: I passed out from this branch in 2021. Chemical Engineering had always been a spark of my life. Starting from my HS life, I had a great interest in Chemical Process Industries along with the PSU's. So I chose this course. The best things about this course includes the theoretical part where the topics of the syllabus are very interesting. Also, the practical knowledge regarding those interesting topic makes the course even more interesting and fun to learn. In my opinion, better facilities regarding the industrial know-how should be implemented as the students are somewhat too much bound with the notes and exams. Every year, the union organizes College Week where sports, cultural competitions, and a night where a famous singer is called in for performing are done. Also, different quiz competition and drawing competition are also organized to keep the students active. Being situated in Chandmari, the connectivity is quite easy and buses are available anytime of the day. Special scholarships are also awarded to the students who pass the exams without a backlog. This motivates the students to work even harder.

Candidate must passed H.S.L.C./ 10th or equivalent examination with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subject in a single sitting (without grace marks in Science and Mathematics) and also have to pass individually in both theory and practical/ Internal Assessment with minimum 40% marks on average in Mathematics and Science for General/OBC/ MOBC candidates, 35% marks on average in Mathematics and Science for SC candidates and 33% marks on average in Mathematics and Science for ST Candidates, from a recognized Institute/ board. Candidate must register in www.dte.assam.gov.in for admission offered by SCTE. The Maximum age limit for UR/OBC/MOBC is 20 years 6 months as on 31-12-2024, for SC/ST, maximum age limit is 23 years 6 months as on 31-12-2024 and for PH/PwD, maximum age limit is 25 years 6 months as on on 31-12-2024. NOTE: No compartmental candidate will be allowed to take admission. For Rank Generation Marks of Four Subjects (Maths, Science, English And Social Science) will be Considered. Candidates must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent resident of Assam . [Except son/daughter of central Govt. Employees). Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) must be produced at the time of Counseling. Physical Fitness (Optional): Candidate must be physically and mentally fit. Candidate will have to produce fitness Certificate at the time of admission from a registered medical practitioner as per enclosed format. Eligibility for Sports Quota: Candidate must be a medal winner of State Games/ State Championships/ Tournaments organized by Assam Olympic Association/ State Sports Association/Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam and will be decided in order of Medals of Gold/ Silver/ Bronze received. The medals received by the candidates must be within the period of last 3 years. Eligibility for NCC Quota: Selection of candidates for NCC category would be considered in order of merit as per NCC Examination Certificate. NOTE: Candidates are asked to submit the documents of the NCC camp attendance. In case of tie in NCC certificate and grade, the camp attendance will be considered for deciding rank.
