MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery - Batch of 2029

Great college with very good teachers and a non-toxic environment.
Placements: There are 75 seats for house staff after you pass out. The college publishes a list based on your 3rd and final-year results (the criteria change every year). Additionally, you get +5 marks for Honors and -3 marks for a supplementary exam. The duration is 6 months (maximum of 1 year). You can also opt for NEET PG. There are plenty of internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: It is a huge college with many different departments. There is a huge library and multiple reading rooms with a very stable internet connection. The classrooms have ACs and multiple lecture theatres. The hostel rooms are not that good. The girls' hostel has double-occupancy rooms, and the washrooms are not very clean. That is the only bad thing about this college.
Faculty: Teachers are awesome. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. You definitely enjoy most of the lectures. The internal exams have standard question papers. Although the semester exams are conducted by the university, you may have to appear for re-semester exams if you do not score 50% in the semester exams.
Other: The college has awesome fests and freshers' events. You also get a lot of exposure to decision-making and taking responsibility when you become a part of the college union. So, you have a lot of fun.

It's a great college with great teachers.
Placements: It gives a great placement because it’s a government medical college with 4.5 years of MBBS and 1 year of compulsory internship you have to do. You also have a great opportunity to do MS/MD, which is also a developed portion with a great system.
Infrastructure: Here the course is MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), a great course for which a lot of students dream and do everything for it. You have to crack the NEET UG exam with a good rank for admission in this college. Here you will get college after 1st year, which is also great.
Faculty: Here the faculty are osam and better than another college in West Bengal because the study environment really affects the study very well. A lot of good NEET PG results come from this institution due to the faculty, curriculum, and exams for MBBS.
Other: No .

It is the best for academics, internships, and placements. It has moderate infrastructure.
Placements: It has 100% placements. The salary package ranges between Rs. 30,000-75,000 per month. No specific company gives placements but we may directly get into private nursing homes or government jobs. 100% of students get internship opportunities for 1 year and it's mandatory by the government with a current salary of Rs. 43,000 per month. The highest paying internship after MBBS except for AFMC. We may easily get a house stuff ship or private nursing home job or block primary health officer job after MBBS from here.
Infrastructure: It is more than 100 years old college. The infrastructure is not so good but moderate. Academics here are excellent. Here the library is the largest library among all government medical colleges of West Bengal and Wi-Fi is free here. The hostel infrastructure is poor. There is very good clinical exposure and 4th in OPD patient loads. It has also started its trauma care facility along with a separate super-specialty facility for neuro, cardio, and gastro. It is the best for obstetrics and gynecology all over West Bengal.
Faculty: Teachers and madams are like our parents here. But if we come here from AIQ quota, then it will be difficult to communicate with patients. Even sometimes, our teachers teach us in Bengal. Teachers are highly experienced here. They teach clinically relevant things more. Teaching quality is more or less good. Semester and proof both are difficult to pass here. It's a politics-free college. So, no cheating in any exam is acceptable here. We must have to study hard to pass exams. But, there is no tension over attendance. It is even okay if we only attend practical classes. It has excellent faculty members.
Other: Bankura town is not so good for hiking out. There is no issue of security but there are not so many good tour places. Overall, we may choose this college if we want to clear NEET PG in running years. It has the greatest number of NEET PG ranker freshers all over West Bengal after MCK, Kolkata. Students are very friendly here. But almost all seniors are very friendly and behave like our elder brother or sister. It's a completely ragging-free college.

One of the best colleges in West Bengal. Notable alumni members and good facilities at hospital.
Placements: Once you complete your MBBS you can get placements as RMO in private institutions. Also, if your result is good, you can have a scholarship in different medical colleges. For MD courses, we have huge patient loads. So students can have an apt clinical knowledge combined with good teaching experience.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi assistance is not available. Rooms are airy and spacious. 2-3 members stay in each room. Bathrooms are available. Corridors are cleaned once a week. Mess and canteen are available for food at reasonable cost. Hostel fee is only 12 rupees a month.
Faculty: Semester exams are a good source for undergraduate students. Exams help students perform better in university. Teachers are highly qualified here. Hospital setting provides a handful of cases for learning and developing clinical acumen. So it has value for money also.

All about Bankura Sammilani Medical College.
Placements: MBBS graduates are placed as MOs, RMOs, or house staff or go for PG, so they don't need to worry about their placement or salary estimate. House staff has the package of 45000. The PG course has the package of 53,000. Others have the package of 50,000. No one is unplaced after being a doctor from this college, a government medical college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure needs to be updated; lifts are not that much in working order; fans, beds, and bathrooms are not that clean. Though college authority is trying their best to update, there is still a lot of scope for being updated. Security concerns are also there, so security guards and CCTVs are also implemented.
Faculty: Faculty are renowned doctors; they also teach very well, and examinations are conducted in a very well-mannered and regular basis, best for students to grow in study. And also hands-on knowledge is given by the professors at our own hospital and direct interaction with patients.

In terms of infrastructure and study scope, my college is such a nice college.
Placements: Entering MBBS by cracking NEET is the only way to enter medical colleges. In the case of government medical colleges, a cheap amount is spent. Are all final year pass-out students able to get an internship? After passing MBBS, one gets entry into house staffship and then as a junior resident doctor in the same college or another college.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is too good, and the facilities are very helpful for students. They also teach more carefully. Here, the library, auditorium, and laboratories are also available. In our college, sports games are available. A huge playground is also there. Boys' and girls' hostels are available, and the mess/canteen is hygienic.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and also pay attention to the students. The teaching quality is truly good. There are 9 semester exams in total in the MBBS course, and students must get 50% marks to pass year-wise. University exams or MB exams are the final exams for each year.
Other: I chose MBBS for my passion also, I want to help poor people who are struggling with money and are unable to buy medicine.

A college which needs serious improvement but some seriously knowledgeable faculty.
Placements: Many alumni of my college are at very prestigious positions in different parts of the country. In this course, they provide all the necessary skills along with loads of in hand experience.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is in a very poor condition. We don't have Wi-Fi anywhere other then library and it is of very poor quality so we can't rely on it. The food provided in the mess is the worse thing you will ever consumer, it is of very poor quality, many times u can find wants and cockroaches in the them and the plates they are served in is liked by dogs many a times. The biggest problem is for vegetarian people you can't find nice vegetarian food at cheap rates. There is no facility for sports apart from football and cricket and that too is for boys only. The washrooms are not very clean and there is also issues with rooms. We have a lift but it never works.
Faculty: Teachers teach well but only in Bangla language. There is a huge language barrier, even if you tell them to speak in English or Hindi, they will come back to Bangla after a few lies. The course is curriculum relevant, it is making us ready for the future to be a good doctor. The semester exams are quite tough with strict invigilation. The passing percentage is 50%.
Other: I have always aspired to be a doctor hence I chose this course, the best thing about this course is that it gives us power to nurture life. I don't think of anything to improve in this course but there sure is a lot to improve about my college. You will like the events here if you are a Bengali otherwise they are quite repetitive and boring.

An old but gold college (with a lot of things to improve) .
Placements: Maximum students get good placements just after 1 year of mandatory internship here in the hospital itself, if not there , then there are multiple nursing homes available for good exposure to patients. Therefore there is no lack of opportunities here. A lot is there to learn in the hospital.
Infrastructure: College is not built within a campus as such, there are 2 college buildings: Lokepur campus and Nutan Bhavan, 3 boys hostel a 1 girls hostel along with 2 hospital buildings: Govindnagar Hospital and Superspeciality building. Boys Hostel is not so clean but it is cleaned regularly. All other accessories provided are adequate and in good quality. Rooms are spacious with proper ventilation. As Bankura is a little backward area with lot of greenery so insects and sometimes snakes are also seen. Overall my hostel experience is moderate.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, generous and always ready to help the students. Mostly teachers teach in Bengali. But if someone does not understand Bengali they also try in either English or Hindi. Exams are conducted in 3 patterns: 1 MB occurs which is the final passing exam conducted from WBUHS, a total of 9 semester exams are conducted in every 4-5 months, and finally after completing one unit regular PCTs are conducted in every 10-15 days. Syllabus is easily completed well within time and revisions are also done. Practicals are conducted regularly and seriously. Overall there are very few drawbacks in the teaching methodology here.
Other: Overall a very good college, infrastructure is a bit old as the college is very old ( 1st batch in 1961). Every year a lot of events and fests are organised like- Nucleus (Freshers), Synapse (Cultural Fest), Convocation, Badminton tournament, and other sports events. Hospital has a very high patient load, it has its merit as well as demerit. Merit- A lot of exposure, Great platform for learning, Seeing new and rare cases. Demerit- Difficult to manage, Very depressing environment, Long working hours. Connectivity of the college is not so good. Bankura Railway station is not so big so majority of trains from large cities do not halt at Bankura. In that case people need to stop at nearby station either Durgapur or Asansol and then reach to Bankura either by bus or train.
