NEET UG 2026 Physics Class 11 syllabus is shared here in detail. The NEET Physics section comprises a total of 50 questions, out of which 45 questions need to be answered. Physics is considered to be the toughest section of the NEET exam. The NEET questions from Physics are calculation-intensive and have sitters, which makes it difficult for test-takers to attempt them on time with accuracy. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the NEET Physics Class 11 syllabus 2026. As per the NEET syllabus, there is no change in the Physics chapters. The NEET 2026 will likely be conducted on May 3, 2026, in over 5,000 exam centres across India and abroad.

Q:   Why are some topics added to the NEET syllabus but are not included in the NCERT books?
A: 

The National Testing Agency added some topics to the NEET exam syllabus in 2024. The chapters added to the syllabus are a part of curriculum in several state boards- Maharashtra, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Nagaland and Manipur.

Physical World and Measurement

  • Need for measurement: Units of measurement; systems of units; SI units, fundamental and derived units. Length, mass, and time measurements; accuracy and precision of measuring instruments; errors in measurement; significant figures.
  • Dimensions of physical quantities, dimensional analysis and its applications.

Kinematics

The frame of reference, motion in a straight line. Position- time graph. speed and velocity: Uniform and non-uniform motion. average speed and instantaneous velocity. Uniformly accelerated motion. velocity-time, position-time graph, relations for uniformly accelerated motion- Scalars and Vectors. Vector. Addition and subtraction, scalar and vector products. Unit Vector. Resolution of a Vector. Relative Velocity. Motion in a plane, Projectile Motion. Uniform Circular Motion.

Laws of Motion

  • Force and inertia, Newton's First Law of Motion: Momentum, Newton’s Second Law of Motion, Impulses: Newton's Third Law of Motion. Law of conservation of linear momentum and its applications. Equilibrium of concurrent forces.
  • Static and Kinetic friction, laws of friction. rolling friction.
  • Dynamics of uniform circular motion: centripetal force and its applications: vehicle on a level circular road. vehicle on a banked road.

Work, Energy, and Power

  • Work done by a constant force and a variable force; kinetic and potential energies. work-energy theorem, power.
  • The potential energy of a spring conservation of mechanical energy. conservative and non-conservative forces; motion in a vertical circle: Elastic and inelastic collisions in one and two dimensions.

Rotational Motion

Centre of the mass of a two-particle system, Centre of the mass of a rigid body: Basic concepts of rotational motion; moment of a force; torque, angular momentum, conservation of angular momentum and its applications.

The moment of inertia, the radius of gyration, values of moments of inertia for simple geometrical objects, parallel and perpendicular axes theorems. and their applications. Equilibrium of rigid bodies. rigid body rotation and equations of rotational motion, comparison of linear and rotational motions.

Gravitation

The universal law of gravitation. Acceleration due to gravity and its variation with altitude and depth. Kepler's law oi planetary motion. Gravitational potential energy; gravitational potential. Escape velocity, Motion of a satellite, orbital velocity, time period and energy of satellite.

Properties of Solids and Liquids

Elastic behaviour, Stress-strain relationship, Hooke's Law. Young's modulus, bulk modulus, modulus of rigidity. Pressure due to a fluid column; Pascal's law and its applications. Effect of gravity on fluid pressure.

Viscosity. Stokes' law. terminal velocity, streamline, and turbulent flow. Critical velocity Bemoulli's principle and its applications.

Surface energy and surface tension, angle of contact, excess of pressure across a curved surface, application of surface tension - drops, bubbles, and capillary rise. Heat, temperature, thermal expansion; specific heat capacity, calorimetry; change of state, latent heat. Heat transfer-conduction, convection, and radiation.

Thermodynamics

Thermal equilibrium, zeroth law of thermodynamics, the concept of temperature. Heat, work, and internal energy. The first law of thermodynamics, isothermal and adiabatic processes.

The second law of thermodynamics: reversible and irreversible processes.

Kinetic Theory of Gases

Equation of state of a perfect gas, work done on compressing a gas, Kinetic theory of gases - assumptions, the concept of pressure. Kinetic interpretation of temperature: RMS speed of gas molecules: Degrees of freedom. Law of equipartition of energy and applications to specific heat capacities of gases; Mean free path. Avogadro's number.

Oscillations and Waves

Oscillations and periodic motion - time period, frequency, displacement as a function of time. Periodic functions. Simple harmonic motion (S.H.M.) and its equation; phase: oscillations of a spring -restoring force and force constant: energy in S.H.M. - Kinetic and potential energies; Simple pendulum - derivation of expression for its time period:

Wave motion. Longitudinal and transverse waves, speed of travelling wave. Displacement relation for a progressive wave. Principle of superposition of waves, reflection of waves. Standing waves in strings and organ pipes, fundamental mode and harmonics- Beats.

There is no specific or defined ratio of Class 11 and Class in which questions are set from the NEET syllabus. It varies from year to year. Based on the previous year's and this year's NEET question paper analysis, it has been observed that the ratio of the Class 12 syllabus is higher than that of the Class 11 syllabus. Here we present the subject-wise ratio of Class 11 and Class 12 NEET syllabi based on last year's analysis. Physics Class 11 - 40% Class 12 - 60% Chemistry: Class 11 - 46% Class 12 - 54% Biology: Class 11 - 53% Class 12 - 47%. The ratio may vary next year.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) revised the NEET syllabus in 2024. In the Biology, chapters were removed in around six units. The table brings the list of chapters and topics along with the units, which were removed in the NEET syllabus.

·         Transport in plants: Movement of water, gases and nutrients; Cell to cell transport-Diffusion, facilitated diffusion, active transport; Plant – water relations – Imbibition, water potential, osmosis, plasmolysis; Long distance transport of water – Absorption, apoplast, symplast, transpiration pull, root pressure and guttation; Transpiration-Opening and closing of stomata; Uptake and translocation of mineral nutrients-Transport of food, phloem transport, Mass flow hypothesis; Diffusion of gases (brief mention).

·         Mineral nutrition: Essential minerals, macro and micronutrients and their role; Deficiency symptoms; Mineral toxicity; Elementary idea of Hydroponics as a method to study mineral nutrition; Nitrogen metabolism-Nitrogen cycle, biological nitrogen fixation.

No, NEET-UG is not required to qualify for Virohan: HRIT University, Ghaziabad BMRIT admissions. Candidates need to only clear their Class 12 board exams in order to be qualified for Virohan: HRIT University, Ghaziabad BMRIT admissions.

The NTA has not announced the number of registered students for NEET 2026 exam. However, the media reports state around 26 Lacs candidates applied for the NEET UG 2026.

To get admission to DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai, based on the NEET results, students need to attain a valid cutoff rank for the MBBS and BDS courses. Both courses have different cutoffs for each All India category. 

For the General AI category, the MBBS cutoff 2025 ranged from 419526 to 548164.

No, the NEET date 2026 has not been extended. The NTA will conduct the NEET UG exam on May 3, 2026. The dates, if postponed, will be notified by the NTA. Moreover, you can get the dates here - NEET 2026 exam dates.
