Opportunities beyond placements.

Placements: The college has an average placement rate of around 60%-70%, with the average package hovering between 4-5 LPA. The highest package was 6 LPA in 2024. The average package is around 4-5 LPA. The lowest package is 2.5 LPA. Companies like Capgemini, Vodafone Idea, TCS, Cognizant, L&T, and Mahindra are top recruiters. However, many students decline job offers to pursue higher studies and prepare for exams like GATE UPSE, CGPSC, etc.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is just average and may not match the standards of more modern private institutions. Classrooms are decent. Sports facilities are also provided. Ground for playing cricket, football, handball, volleyball, basketball court, indoor badminton facility, table tennis and many more. Talking about the CS department, labs are well-equipped. Wi-Fi hostels and a student store are also provided. A canteen and a parking area ar also provided.

Faculty: The faculty is great and helpful. If you approach them, they give career advice and guidance. Our professors help students prepare for internships, hackathons, placements, etc. The curriculum is the same as other colleges. New branches are also open now like ECS, ET, and IT.

Other: 4 teams from our college won national-level SIH24. College cricket, football, volleyball, and handball teams are inter-zonal champions.

Infrastructure and placements are good.

Placements: In Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg the lowest salary package offered is around 4 LPA-6 LPA. Currently, 60% of students got placed from our branch. Many companies offer placements, such as TCS, Accenture, Flipkart, etc. Many students secured internships in IITs or NITs and received stipends.

Infrastructure: In our college, all labs are fully equipped and every classroom has separate projectors. Wi-Fi speed is also fast in labs and classrooms. The food quality in the mess is not great, but canteen is awesome. There is a separate medical room for any injuries or sickness.

Faculty: Our professors provide proper guidance not only for syllabus but also in other activities. They properly guide students. Course also help students gain practical knowledge. Semester exams are a bit difficult. Passing marks in all semesters is 35.

Other: BIT, Durg hosts Ojas fest which is quite popular in other colleges.

A sober college with great intentions.

Placements: BIT Durg provides lots of placement opportunities to the students who work really hard in their college journey. More than 75% of the students get placed every year. The average package of this college is 5 LPA and the highest one is 16 LPA. Many high level companies like Accenture, Bajaj, HDFC, etc. visit this college every year to place students. More than 60% students get internships every year in this college. Companies like HDFC, Vikrant, BAJAJ, and others give internship opportunities to the students in their academic session. The roles offered in my course are that of web developer, weh designer, programmer, assistant role in companies and others.

Infrastructure: The facilities provided by this college are super impressive. It has big auditoriums, labs, clubs, grounds and well digitalized rooms with proper camera and audio functions. It also provides an excellent speed Wi-Fi network. The library of BIT Durg is so massive that it consists of more than 20,000 books on a single floor having 2 floors. The hostel facilities are also good. They provide rooms accommodating three students each with 3 study desks, shelves, two tube lights and 2 fans. There is a 24x7 water and electricity availability provided by this college. The quality of food is also good. They provide menu according to the upcoming seasons which is the best part. The mess is maintained neat and clean with cameras on. There is a clinic just behind the mess which opens from 9 AM to 6 PM everyday. There is a canteen just 20 metres away from the mess which is very much budget friendly. The students can eat anything in their budget. There are both indoor and outdoor games available in this college. Students who are willing to play in their spare time can go and play whichever sports they want. There are enormous sports available in this college such as table tennis, cricket, badminton, etc. along with a well functioning gym for the gym rats.

Faculty: The teachers at BIT Durg are very experienced and skillful. They provide the students with the best ways to study and get job opportunities too. Many teachers are qualified from foreign countries which help the students to learn better things apart from studies. This course definitely makes the students perfectly ready for any industry because it teaches a lot more apart from studies. The semester exams of this college are quite moderate. As this is an autonomous college, the question papers are made by the college itself so the students who study during the classes in a right way, can definitely achieve a good score in their exams. The passing percentage of this college is 33% which is quite simple to clear.

Other: I chose this course because since childhood I had interest in technology and computers. The best thing about this course is that it will help anywhere in my life because it is a growing world in technology so I can easily get a job from this course. I wish I could tell people to focus more on practicals as compared to theories because this course is completely dependent on practical things. BIT Durg celebrates an annual fest known as OJAS which is held every year in the month on February. Apart from that, there are many small fests happening every month in this college which is quite impressive. The campus crowd is so huge as it has more than 5000 students. The campus is so neat and well maintained with greenery everywhere. BIT Durg provides lots of scholarship opportunities to the students who really work hard including normal scholarships to category students, sports quota scholarships, scholarships for students who worked really well in their 12th standard. The extracurricular activities include the clubs which are available in this college. BIT Durg has a total of 16 clubs which is quite impressive.

Satisfaction due to poor guidance.

Placements: Placement scenario is decreasing day by day. Cognizant and Accenture are the two top companies which give good packages and recruit people. But the percentage of students getting placement is below 60%, and the development as well as guidance is not so good.

Infrastructure: I took Computer Science in Artificial Intelligence, but the college is much more like a school. You have to come to college and attend boring classes; there is no time for side coding or skill development. If we bunk classes, then they will call the parents. The girls' hostel is out of the campus, 2 km away. There is no facility for traveling as well as very poor infrastructure of the hostel. Even hostel food was good when I was in the 1st year, but it is now very downgraded.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and friendly, you can ask doubts whenever you want to. But they use old teaching style, which makes the class very boring. The course curriculum is up to the mark, not so good but not bad as well. Students have to spend extra time to build skills as not much industry-ready guidance is provided.
