The CDAC C-CAT 2026 counselling and choice filling rounds for the February 2026 batch was available for January 22-28, 2026. Candidates would need to register and fill their centre choices by Jan 28. CDAC C-CAT 2025 Counselling Process
First Counselling and Initial Allocation (Rounds 1 & 2)
The preferences submitted during the First Counselling session govern both the First and Second Rounds of seat allocation.
Round 1 Allocation
Seats are assigned based on C-CAT rank and the candidate's priority list. If a candidate’s rank does not permit entry into their top choice, they are allocated the highest available preference on their list.
Round 2 Allocation (The Upgrade)
- Candidates who received a lower-priority preference in Round 1 are automatically considered for their higher-priority choices in case any vacancy comes up
- If a candidate is allocated their first preference in Round 1, this assignment is considered final. Such candidates are ineligible for further upgrades in Round 2.

Second Counselling (Round 3)
- After the completion of the first two rounds, a Second Counselling session will take place. This requires a new submission of preferences specifically for the third round of seat allocation to fill remaining vacancies across training centres.

During the CDAC C-CAT counselling process, the candidates will have to choose their choice of courses before the last date. It is to be noted that the selection of courses has to be done in order of preference. This is important as order of preference will be considered for of seats allotment.
No. The authorities will not allow fresh choice filling for the second round of CDAC C-CAT counselling. Candidates will have to make their selection during the first round of CDAC C-CAT counselling. No changes can be done once the choices are submitted. Fresh choice filling can be done only during the third round of CDAC C-CAT counselling process.

Seat Allocation Rules
- Seat allocations are strictly determined by the rank of the candidate in the CDAC CCAT 2026.
- The system is designed to move candidates upward through their preference list as seats become available; it will never move a candidate to a lower-ranked preference than what was previously secured.
- One-time entry for two rounds, meaning the choices locked during the first counselling session are binding for both the first and second allocation stages.
