Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate is the basic eligibility for an MCA offered at CIT Coimbatore. However, the final selection of candidates is based on TANCET followed by counselling.

CIT admission is completely entrance/counselling-based and is conducted by DOTE Chennai. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses across 13 departments such as Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics, among others.
