M.Sc. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2024
2.6

Professors were good but there were no job-related things in the college.
Placements: There were absolutely no placements for M.Sc. students. Just the forwarded messages, and we had to go for the mass interviews from those. We ourselves went for internships for 6 months. No recruiting companies were present. Hardly 10 percent of us got jobs.
Infrastructure: Course is good. The hostel is fine too, but the quality of food can be an issue with some people. They simply take lectures and sessions on jobs and research but nothing that helped us. Sports and games were, of course, a part, but the curriculum doesn't allow time.
Faculty: Faculty are highly educated. Curriculum is okay. Exams were nicely conducted and crafted. The amount of fees charged is too much and in the end, nothing helps. They don't even help with the internships. Course curriculum is related but nothing hands-on.
Other: I chose this course for research and development studies. However, I didn't get any of it hands-on. They should improvise on the practicals. Should give us field visits that actually help. Events were average.

B.Tech. in Medical Biotechnology - Batch of 2019

All the professors were highly qualified.
Placements: In our college, almost 100% of students get on-campus placements. The average package offered for our course was 4 LPA. The top recruiters are from the pharmaceutical and medical fields. Almost all the students get internships in the labs and hostels aligned with the college. Top roles offered in our course are lab technician, pharmaceuticals etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities at the college are much better than at the other college. The college has labs that are properly equipped for the various lab practicals. The college has a high-speed Wi-Fi connection. Facilities in the college hostel were good. All sports facilities were available at the college. The food in the college canteen and hostel mess was comparatively good.
Faculty: All the teachers in the institute were highly qualified and knowledgeable. They taught us really well. Teachers were very supportive and helpful. Teachers used to perform all the lab experiments and guide us correctly regarding the experiments. Exams at the college are easy to pass. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry.

B.Tech. in Medical Biotechnology - Batch of 2028

I am satisfied with the teaching, placements, and some infrastructure.
Placements: My field is medical biotechnology, and there are no such placements from the college till now. Only internship programs are provided. Students have to search for a job on their own. The college only helps in making a portfolio. Mostly, students from our field opt for higher studies. From college, only 4-5 students out of 60 got placed in good companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi works average. The hostel is good, but the food is not worth the money. It is a little expensive. The management is not good as students had food poisoning, but no action is taken against it, and it is left as it is, and the issue is not solved.
Faculty: Teachers are well-trained. Some teachers have a lot of knowledge but are not able to explain it to students. Overall, staff members and professors are highly educated. They make students industry-ready. Semester exams in college are difficult, but if we study well, we will manage to pass exams.
Other: Medical biotechnology is one of the emerging fields in the present day since COVID-19, so I chose it. A little more knowledge is required to spread among people regarding this course and its importance in the future. Events are moderate in the college, and it has a nice connectivity. Some scholarships are available to a few students in some specific categories and not to all.

It is the best college for biotechnology.
Placements: Almost 100% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 10 LPA. The average salary package offered is 5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. Our college provides internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is average. Our campus is small. A playground is not available in our college. Students have to book a turf outside the college. The infrastructure of the hostel is good. The food served in the mess is not much good. The water facility is not good.
Faculty: Our teachers are good. They provide practical knowledge so that students can understand more precisely. Semester exams are easy.
Other: The course fee is Rs. 6,50,000.

Review of Dr. D. Y. Patil Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth.
Placements: Our college has good placements. Top recruiting companies visit our campus. Most students work on research projects. It provides wide opportunities in the drug industry. Internships are provided and benefit students who want to study abroad.
Infrastructure: The campus is small. Our college has many labs. All labs have good biosafety levels. Advanced machines are used. Our college offers MBA, BBA, PGDM, catering, HM, and design. A cafeteria is available. The campus has good environment. Gym is available on campus.
Faculty: The course curriculum is student-friendly. Practicals are more prioritized than theory, which is a good point for improving your laboratory skills. Special classes are organised for slow learners. Our teachers are friendly and supportive.
Other: If you are from a PCB background and want to pursue biotechnology, not MBBS, then this is the best option for you. Campus life is good. The campus crowd is good. Our college organises many fests. Events and seminars are part of its curriculum.

Overall a good experience till now.
Placements: About 60-65% of students get placed in our course. The top recruiting companies are Biocon and Serum Institute. The top roles offered are industrialist, genetic counselor, research and development, and many more. Though campus placement is that good, one should also try off-campus placement.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are excellent with smart boards. Other facilities like the Wi-Fi and library are amazing. The hostel was good and the campus is ragging free. The mess food was average like any other hostel. Every week a doctor used to visit the Hostel.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and qualified. Most of them have completed their Ph.D. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and it really makes the student industry-ready. Mock interviews are conducted every semester to enhance confidence. Semester exams are quite difficult but if you study well it will be manageable.
Other: I chose this course because I love Biology and wanted to make my career in that only.

Based on several Attributes, I can say Amity University, Mumbai is best for doing BTech.

Amity University provides Industry ready circulum and gives an amazing opportunity for Innovation .

While both Amity University and DYPBBI are reputable institutions offers M.Tech and B.Tech. programs in Biotechnology.

Generally the attributes which are considered is faculty, research opportunities, infrastructure, and industry collabs.

A:

DYPBBI is a good option for B.Tech, the placements are not up tp the mark but as compared to other colleges the placements offered are quite good . Many students opt for higher education, and few students apply for jobs in this course. The average salary package offered ranges from 3 LPA - 4 LPA. Students got placed in Biotech and pharma companies like Lupin, Serum Institute of India, etc. If you are a materialistic person, do not opt for this sector because, in India, the biotech and pharma companies are 75 years behind compared to the USA.
