Review of M.Com Course, University of Jammu.

Placements: The placement of college is organised through a job fair, where hardly 10% have placement at all. The average package is 2.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies include HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Shriram Finance, etc. The top roles offered are assistant manager in banks and companies, HR assistant, etc.

Infrastructure: The university has remarkable infrastructure facilities with Wi-Fi and smart boards in each classroom. The central library consists of 1 lac+ books related to various disciplines. The quality of hostel facilities is quite good. The food available in the mess and canteen is of good quality. The University has extracurricular activities related to sports, theatre, etc.

Faculty: The faculty of the University is cooperative and helpful to the students. The faculty is highly qualified and consists of intellectual personalities. The course is relevant for higher studies in commerce. The difficulty level of exams is moderate, and the pass percentage is 65%.

Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in higher studies in commerce. I want to learn more and gain more knowledge related to finance. The University organizes fest celebrations on campus, such as Swachh Bharat Mission, Republic Day, Independence Day, Holi, Lohri, etc. The University provides scholarships to merit-based students as well as to SC and ST students under Central-sponsored and State-sponsored schemes.

If students want to have fun while studying then can take admission to this college.

Placements: In this college, no placements were offered by this university site but still, students got their placements by offsite recruitment. Almost 100% of students got internships in some libraries or university libraries. The top roles were librarian and chief librarian.

Infrastructure: Food was good in this college, and cost-efficient having Rs 30 only for one-time food. The hostel condition was still good, and free Wi-Fi was provided. The central library and hostel library were good. Classrooms were eco-friendly, and mess was good. The canteens were provided but not available for 24X7.

Faculty: Professors were good and well qualified, but sometimes they were not in the mood to teach students so they made excuses to get rid of the classes. The semester exam was difficult, but students who were good in their studies can clear the exam.

Other: I opted for this course, because of my interest in books, and I want to be in librarian, and I will get this job and my passion was also serving them. There was no event till 2020, but after that, there were fast scholarships that were provided.

The university is doing its best to help the students to develop their professional career.

Placements: Nearly 5-10% of the students are placed in our course. The highest of 4.5 Lacs, the lowest of 2.5 Lacs, and average of 3.5 Lacs package is offered. Top recruiting companies include hdfc bank, icici bank, icici prudential, etc. Less than 2-3 % students got internship opportunities in hdfc bank, icici bank, etc. Top roles offered are of project manager, assistant manager.

Infrastructure: The college has top class facilities and infrastructure like central and departmental library, smart classrooms, auditorium, medical room, playgrounds, Wi-Fi enabled campus, etc. The quality is top class with good hostel, mess food is also good, canteen has all the essential commodities available.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and are very knowledgeable. They have good education quality standards. This course helps the students to get ready for industry and helps the student in their overall personality development. The course helps the students to build their career in right direction.

Other: I choose this course because it lies in my area of interest. The best thing about this course is that it prepares us for industry. Providing enough industrial experience and internship opportunities can help the course to deliver the most to the students. A lot of events, seminars, guest lectures, extra-curricular activities are performed inside the campus.

Dissatisfied with faculty.

Placements: I don't think placements are done here. No salary is offered as no placement is provided. We have to do an internship by ourselves only. Some do in Jammu and some don't. They go out of the Jammu to do internship.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good but if you stand outside some tiles may fall on u or anything from up can fall on u. so it's very risky to stand outside the department. Canteen is also good but sometimes it serves stale food. I didn't visit the hostel. So I don't know how it is.

Faculty: Teaching quality is good. Teachers are well qualified. Teachers are very supportive. Seminars are also conducted for the students. We didn't get any industry exposure yet.
