I'm dissatisfied with the hostel, faculty, and campus placement.
Placements: In our EE branch, only 4-5 students out of 50 are placed, and the placements in this college are average. The highest package is 6 LPA, and the average package is 3-4 LPA. No core or IT companies visit this college. Maybe next year, like 2026 or 2027, more recruiters will come. Internships are a strong area in this college. There are internships in a local power plant, a railway, a food company, and many more.
Infrastructure: In this college, the infrastructure is not so good. Wi-Fi does not work properly in our college, and the library closes after the class. There is no good ground for cricket. Medical facilities are good, but the quality of food in the mess is not good.
Faculty: Some teachers here are very good, but there is a language problem if you don't know the Bangla language. There is no problem with the semester exams. The pass percentage is 65%. The Electrical Engineering (EE) curriculum provides a solid theoretical foundation through core subjects such as Circuit Theory, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Control Systems. These areas remain highly relevant, as they form the backbone of the electrical engineering profession. However, when it comes to industry readiness, the curriculum shows certain limitations.
Other: Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarship, extracurricular activities, etc., are very bad. Here, there is a big problem in verifying your scholarship documents by the college authorities.

This is not a really good college. The name is only CFTU, but there is no feel like this.
Placements: Nearly 90% placed, but the salary is 13,000 per month. The average salary is 2.5 LPA. Companies are HighTechNext only, no other. For internships, there is no chance, only 75% attendance is mandatory in the final year. There are no roles offered in my course.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi. There are labs, but the machines are under progress. The hostel life is totally bad. In a single room, 2-3 will be forced to live. If anyone objects, the response is to leave the hostel. There is no infrastructure developed. When the current goes, it goes, and there is no backup.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, but the teaching quality is not the best because all come with notes and dictate. There is no scope for being industry-ready. Exams are very bad. The questions on the exam are not what I have read, nor are they what they taught. The pass percentage is good but not satisfactory.

Decent but could be better.
Placements: GKCIET offers moderate placement opportunities. Around 85% of students who appear for the interview secure jobs, with the highest package reaching 4 LPA. Jobs are mainly offered by Hightechnext. However, internship opportunities are limited, and the most common role provided is that of a site engineer, highlighting the scope for broader industry engagement and higher package prospects in the future.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi, and in the library, you can’t enter the bookshelf; you have to check online and take the book. In the hostel, lifts are available, but the rooms offered to the final year students are triple sharing with only one fan. The labs of the Electrical Engineering department are good; as I am in Electrical, I can only comment on that. The quality of food in the hostel mess is very bad. There are medical facilities like an ambulance in the hostel, but there is no sports or gym room attached to the hostel; only one carrom board is there.
Faculty: Electrical Engineering, most of the faculty members are quite helpful and highly qualified too; they also deliver quality content in classes. The course is curriculum-relevant, but doesn’t make students industry-ready. As it is affiliated with MAKAUT, the semester exams are moderate, but the passing rate is on the lower side.
Other: I opted for this course because it’s a CFTI, and I can complete my B. Tech for around 3 lakh, so it’s quite pocket-friendly too. The campus should be clean and maintained, and the library should be open 24/7. There is no campus life like that of other colleges.

Avoid if you get a better choice.
Placements: Placement is not so good, mainly in rural areas; most companies do not visit. It is better to sit in an off-campus placement. Mainly, 50% of students are placed every year. The average package is 3 LPA. Internships, we also find ourselves, college will not provide efficiently.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not available, labs are okay, and the library is well stocked; most of the books are available. It also has a digital library, where we can access everything we want. Hostels are okay, but the charges are higher.
Faculty: Teachers are not so good; they know a lot, but do not have good teaching quality. The course curriculum is not so efficient. Most of the things we learn are not useful in our job life; courses do not prepare students for the industrial levels. There are 2 semesters in a year. Teachers are well-educated but not too efficient in teaching.
Other: I chose this course wrongly; it's not good at all. Fests are not held here.

The college is good, but the management is poor. Fees are low.
Placements: I am Ashish Choudhary, a student of Electrical Engineering at GKCIET. About placements, especially in the Electrical branch, placements are average, around 3 to 4 LPA, with the highest being 6 LPA. But internships are good. The college is known for its internships. If you are good at your course, you can get one Internship.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are good, and the environment is quiet, but Wi-Fi is not provided. Labs are equipped with necessary equipment. Classrooms are provided with projectors, but the use of the projector depends upon the teacher. The hostel has very strict rules. If you are new, you can go for the hostel, but after that, you can see outside accommodation. The canteen is not equipped with necessary items. Sports are good.
Faculty: Teachers are not very helpful, especially if you are from outside West Bengal. About 50 to 60% of students pass the exam. The course is good, but it lacks an updated curriculum. The attendance policy is very strict, you have to attend at least 75%. If you don't attend 75%, then you are not able to give the exam.
Other: I did choose this course (Electrical Engineering) because it has potential in EV and government jobs. Events are not happening in my time, and they are not so good. The campus is surrounded by fields, and it lacks extracurricular activities.

One of its advantages is it has good connectivity. Malda Town railway station is just 8 KM away.
Placements: My college's first batch graduated in 2021, so placements are still developing. Few companies visit, but the training and placement cell is active. Students often rely on off-campus opportunities. The college is improving steadily, and with time, the placement scenario is expected to get better. Overall, it's an average experience.
Infrastructure: Our college has two hostels, i.e., SV Hall, which is for first-year students and girls, and SC Bose Hall, which accommodates the rest of students. The college campus is quite good. Overall, the experience has been average to good. The hostel is good.
Faculty: Faculty members are average to good. They are generally helpful and supportive, especially when students show interest in learning. While some teachers are highly knowledgeable and dedicated, others are more basic in their approach. Overall, the teaching quality is decent and improving as the college continues to grow.
Other: The campus is in the village area.
