Q:   Is there any change in NEET 2026 syllabus?
A:

There is no change in the NEET 2026 syllabus by NTA. The NEET syllabus 2026 was released on January 8, 2026 by the NTA based on the NMC-notified syllabus on December 23, 2025. As per the latest syllabus PDF, no new chapter has been added and there is no deletion of chapter as well.

Q:   Which are the books to prepare for NEET?
A:
Among all the books of NEET in the world, first, go for the NCERT books. You must complete all the NCERT books first before moving to other reference books available in the market. After completing the NCERT books, you can go for the following books to boost up your practice and concepts: 1.Dinesh's Objective books 2.Trueman's Biology 3.MTG's Fingertips 4.HC Verma 5.R.D.Sharma All the best!
Q:   Which books are really good for the preparation of NEET other than NCERT?
A:
The NCERT books help you in clearing your doubts regarding the concepts. Conceptual clarity is really important both for NEET and JEE exams. Other than that, you can refer to Arihant and MTG books. They have a good approach in the practice exercises and are all to the level of NEET only. They can help you a lot. Then in these books, you can refer to the previous years' questions and so you can get an idea of the questions and the type of questions that are repeated. Practice more and try to solve many questions in time. That will help you to get good marks which will eventually lead you to a good college through the NEET exam. All the best!

Q:   Are NCERT books enough to complete the NEET syllabus?
A:

Yes, NCERT books are sufficient to complete the NEET syllabus. A number of past years' NEET toppers have claimed that they referred only to NCERT books for preparation. NCERT textbooks act as the base to complete the syllabus and develop conceptual clarity and understanding of the topics and chapters. However, for practice purposes, students may refer to other books and resources as well. It is advised that while starting the NEET preparation, candidates refer to the NCERT books and move towards other books and advanced resources after that.

Q:   What are the books to be used for NEET chemistry preparation?
A:
Some of the best books for NEET Chemistry are: 1. NCERT Chemistry textbooks for Class 11 2. NCERT Chemistry textbooks for Class 12 3. Dinesh Chemistry Guide 4. Organic Chemistry by Morrison and Boyd for Organic Chemistry 5. Organic Chemistry Objective by Arihant 6. Moderns ABC of Chemistry for Class 11 and Class 12 7. Physical Chemistry by OP Tandon 8. Physical Chemistry by P Bahadur 9. Concise Inorganic Chemistry by JD Lee 10. Practice Books by VK Jaiswal (Inorganic), MS Chauhan (Organic) and N Awasthi (Physical) Apart from these, you must also refer to previous years' NEET question papers and take ample mock tests to excel in this subject.
Q:   Which are the best books for NEET Physics preparation?
A:
The best books for NEET Physics preparation are listed below: 1. NCERT Textbook for Class 11 Physics 2. NCERT Textbook for Class 12 Physics 3. Objective Physics by DC Pandey 4. Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick and Walker 5. Concepts of Physics by H C Verma 6. Fundamental Physics by Pradeep 7. Problems in General Physics by IE Irodov Apart from the above-mentioned books, you must also take ample mock tests and solve previous years' question papers.

How to Prepare for NEET 2026 Chapter-wise Weightage?

While students are primarily advised to complete the NEET syllabus thoroughly, the next level would include the proper allocation of time, energy and resources to focus on the high weightage topics of NEET. To achieve that, experts suggest the following tips:

  • Compare previous years' NEET question papers: Make a list of topics which were covered in each subject for the past five to six years. This will give you an idea of the NEET chapters with high weightage over a consistent period. Prioritise those topics while preparing.
  • Take sectional mock tests: Students are advised to take full-length mock tests once they complete the entire syllabus of NEET 2026. But to gain expertise over these areas, taking section-wise NEET mock tests comes in handy as it gives exposure to varied question types. Moreover, after each sectional mock test, they should get it analysed by their teachers to understand and mitigate common mistakes, as well as deduce a more effective question-solving method.
  • Select the right Books: While there are a plethora of NEET books available, one must select those which have quality content with the latest syllabus, proper description and explanation as well as practice questions.
  • Regular revision: Regular revision is the key to any exam preparation. To ace NEET chapters with high weightage, students must regularly revise those topics and solve as many questions as possible so that they do not go out of touch with these areas.

Now that students are aware of the high-weightage chapters for NEET 2026, it is time to devise the preparation strategy in terms of time to be allotted for each section, practice, revision, etc. While taking NEET mock tests or solving previous year question papers, they should decide on the test-taking strategy. Based on the chapter-wise weightage for NEET, aspirants can decide which questions to attempt and which to skip. However, students must note that the chapter-wise weightage for NEET provided above is based on last year and this year, it may not be the same. Hence, they should be prepared for every possibility.

In India, only NEET is the entrance test for admission in undergraduate medical courses in India. All of the top medical institutes in India, including AIIMS and JIPMER, will consider the NEET 2026 score. With such a high level of competition, and only those who have prepared for the examination seriously can clear it. Being the only way of getting admission to MBBS/ BDS and other medical and paramedical courses in India, the need to stay focused has increased. Moreover, with the removal of the upper age limit from the NEET eligibility criteria. The exam is even more competitive. In order to clear the NEET 2026 exam, students must work with a very strong NEET preparation strategy so that they can stay motivated throughout the preparation phase.
