An average college. Could be made better if in a better city.
Placements: In our class, nearly 64 students among which 15 students are currently placed with an average salary package of 5 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA. Companies that visited our college are Cipla, TCS, Siemens, Cognizant, and many others.
Infrastructure: The college has Wi-Fi, but classrooms and labs do not have access to it. Overall, there is no network in the college because of blockers that are installed by the college. The college is located in a very Jungle-type location so facilities are super.
Faculty: Our teachers are highly qualified. All teachers are Ph.D. candidates. They are not very helpful. They are not willing to conduct lectures. The course curriculum is very relevant, but it is outdated and needs updating. The difficulty of examinations is average. Exams are not very difficult, you can easily score.
Other: I had already completed my diploma in computer technology so that's why I chose information technology for my degree improvement. The updation of the courses is necessary. It should include languages that are currently used in the computer field should be added to the curriculum instead of the same updated languages. Events that are conducted in the college for social life are great.

Autonomous government institute.
Placements: About 70% of the students from the previous batches were placed in the on-campus placement drive. The top recruiting companies for the institute are TCS, Cognizant, Persistence, etc. The average package lies between 3 and 4.5 LPA. The on-campus recruiting companies themselves provide internships to the students they are hiring.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college building is good and new developments are happening day by day. Every department building is equipped with a Wi-Fi facility. Hostels are provided to students in their 1st and 2nd years only, as other hostels are under construction.
Faculty: Faculty members are well qualified in their respective fields of expertise. Course curriculum are updated according to the latest national education policy. With the required dedication, students clear examinations at their ease. Students have to score a minimum of 40 marks out of a total of 100.

Government power and strong alumni connections.
Placements: I am from information technology, about 80% are placed in service-based companies that hire in bulk like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, and the top 1% of students are selected in product-based companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, IBM, etc. About 40% of students got internships in their 3 years.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average, according to a private college, due to the government tag, but it is good, not great. Wi-Fi is available all over the college, including classrooms and the library. The college has two hostels for girls and two hostels for boys, of which one is for out-of-state students.
Faculty: Some teachers are good, but some are very strict about rules. No, the curriculum is not relevant in 2023, but they are trying to improve according to the new education policy. Semester exams are quite hard compared to university exams, and the exams are conducted strictly.
Other: The extracurricular activities depend upon yourself. I chose this college because I am living in a neighboring city.

Good campus life but extremely disappointed by the placement result this year.
Placements: The college has had very poor placement results in the last few years, even in the CS and IT branches. The placement cell in college is nearly inactive and does not support students. And hence, very few companies visit college; only 60% of students get jobs. The highest package is INR 11 LPA; the average package is between INR 4 and 5 LPA. The lowest package is INR 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are L & T infotech, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, etc. The top roles offered are Graduate Engineer Trainee, Software Development Engineer, and Associate Software Engineer.
Infrastructure: The college is very old, and hence the infrastructure is also like that and needs renovation. Wi-Fi is available only at some places. Computer labs are present in limited quantities only. Classrooms are spacious and have a lot of space, and projectors are also present. The college library is also good and provides any necessary books, but you have to follow some instructions. Hostels are really very affordable. I got a hostel first and had to pay only 150 rupees for a complete year. However, hostel seats are extremely limited. Food in hostel is very horrible and you can think of outside mess facility.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers in the college are helpful, and they are very experienced in the teaching profession, but they don't have interesting teaching skills. Many lecturers are boring and sick of the syllabus. Also, irregularities in lectures can be seen. The course curriculum is set up according to university guidance only, but it is relevant to industry demands. The exams are set up by the university and have a moderate-to-hard level of difficulty. Passing percentages are 35%.
Other: Campus life is not that bad, and you can enjoy it more if you have joined more clubs. Zenith is our annual fest and you will enjoy a lot here on DJ nights. Sports competitions are very actively organized. Other extracurricular activities like singing, dancing, social gatherings, and awareness are always encouraged.

One of the good colleges. Good faculty but the infrastructure can be improved.
Placements: Placements are really good. Placement is best for computer Science and engineering and information technology department. Different companies like Amazon, Samsung R & D, Cognizant, Wipro visit for placements. Mass recruiting companies like Tata Consultancy services, Infosys also visit.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is under development. Some building and departments are renovated recently while some building is under development. The college provides high-speed internet through LAN and Wi-Fi. Flipboard's are installed in most of the classes for effective study.
Faculty: The faculty of the Government College of Engineering is extremely good. Every faculty has done master's and post-graduate. Apart, the faculty is very polite to every student. Teaching quality is best. The curriculum is absolutely good. End Semester and mid-semester exams are quite difficult here.
Other: Zenith, KTC (Sports event) and many other events are conducted through out the year.

Students also asked

Q:   Is Government College of Engineering Amravati Tier 1 or Tier 2?
A:

Government College of Engineering Amravati is considered an elite class II government engineering college with a great reputation across the state, especially in Maharashtra. Though they have not gained the same status of national recognition that Tier 1 institutions like IITs or NITs enjoy, such institutes remain good places of learning with decent placement records for all sorts of engineering disciplines.

Facilities, teaching expertise, and government support also adorn the college. Still, it cannot win a Top Engineering Colleges of India rank for itself typically, but that certainly gets it into Tier 2.
