Not so satisfied after taking admission. The environment of this college is not much good.
Placements: I am studying in the mechanical branch at Government College of Engineering, Amravati. It's been 6 months since I joined the college and I live in the new boys hostel of this college. As per my experience, the placements and internship rates in the college are not good even for technical branches like CS and IT.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is also average like the classrooms and the benches are very old. Wi-Fi, labs, and library facilities are very nice. There is a wide variety of books in the library. Wi-Fi has been installed in almost all the departments of the college. In computer labs, there are i7 computers. Moreover, the hostel life is very disciplined, students stay awake at 2:00 AM and it happens every day. The reason for their late nights is not their studies but they do timepass with their friends.
Faculty: Some faculty members are quite good. But most of them are lazy (most of the students don't understand anything in class). In the first semester exams in maths subject, 53 students out of 70 students of mechanical branch failed in maths. So, the checking of the answers sheet is done very strictly.

It is one of the best colleges for engineering in Maharashtra.
Placements: The placement ratio in the college is good but average package offered in the college placement is about 3.5 LPA to 8 LPA. The network of the college with the companies is good, many known companies visit college example, L&T, TCS, Mahindra, Reliance, and many more.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of college is good. Every branch has its department. Classrooms are good and college also has Wi-Fi facility. Hostel is available in the college for both boys and girls. Hostel rooms are good and also has Wi-Fi facility. The meal of hostel is also good, you can get delicious food in low price.
Faculty: Every faculty member in college is highly educated. The teaching of faculty members is good. Course curriculum is related to course according to NEP2020 design. Exams in college are tough, you have to study seriously for exam. You have to score at least 40% to pass the examination.

Review of Government College of Engineering, Amravati.
Placements: Government College of Engineering Amravati offers on-campus placements. The on-campus package is average. Placements are good for tech branches such as CSE and IT department students. There are compulsory internships in 8th semester. Students are eligible for campus placements starting from 7th semester. Percentage for placement for CSE branch and IT branch is good. Approximately out of 60 students, 50 students get on-campus placements in tech branch.
Infrastructure: I am a hostel student, and hostel is present on the campus. Rooms are quite good and have much space. There are 3 students in one room 3 beds, 2 fans, 4 lights, 3 tables, and chairs are provided in the room. Mess is also available in the hostel. Hostel fee is very low that is only Rs 150 but the maintenance cost is Rs 5,000. Mess is also good compared to outside mess.
Faculty: Faculty to student ratio is balanced. Most faculty members are approachable and helpful. Faculty members of mechanical department are very supportive and helpful. Professor of mechanical department and mathematics is good. They teach complex problems of Maths easily. Our exam pattern is 15 marks CT1 (common test 1), 15 marks CT2 (common test 2), and 60 marks ESE (end-semester exam).

I'm satisfied with campus.
Placements: Placements are good in mechanical branch. Every year 75% of students get placed from this college. Most expensive and the biggest companies visit for placements. In the third year, some companies visits college to give internships to brilliant students.
Infrastructure: College has a special department of seven branches along with 2 active boys hostels and 4 girls hostels. In the hostel all facilities are available. There is 5G Wi-Fi available for students and the quality of mess is better than other mess.
Faculty: College has good permanent faculty members who also have assistance along with visiting faculty members. Communication skills and teaching techniques are very good. All things they teach are learned extremely fast due to teaching skills of staff.
Other: We have good faculty members and our batch contains 60 students in our branch.

Engineering excellence in Vidarbha.
Placements: Placement is very good at our college. Almost 70 percent of students are placed in every year of studies. Many of the students are giving the GATE exam and pursuing the Masters in Technology after Bachelors of Technology. The highest package is 20 LPA to 22.5 LPA, and the average package is 5.5 to 7 LPA every year. Top recruiters are Wipro, TCS, IBM, Cognizant, L&T, Mahindra, and HCL Technologies.
Infrastructure: In Infrastructure, Academic Facilities: Classrooms: Every branch has separate departments, and in every department, every department is well equipped and computerized. On the college campus, everywhere are WI-FI facilities implemented. Hostels, mess, library, laboratories, health center, canteen, and gymkhana are well developed and maintained.
Faculty: Faculty: In every department with science and humanities (first-year department subjects), there are permanent and Ph.D.-holder faculty members. In teaching, the college supports teaching technological excellence by providing a Bachelor of Technology degree. Curriculum: As per Central Government Policy to provide social with every field knowledge education. GCOEA implemented National Education Policy (NEP-2020) from the 2023–24 batch. College is academically autonomous since 2006. Exams: Colleges take exams semester-wise with winter and summer and summer term for students who clear backlogs with one more chance. Exams are easy, and some are moderate.

Q:   Is Government College of Engineering Amravati Tier 1 or Tier 2?
A:

Government College of Engineering Amravati is considered an elite class II government engineering college with a great reputation across the state, especially in Maharashtra. Though they have not gained the same status of national recognition that Tier 1 institutions like IITs or NITs enjoy, such institutes remain good places of learning with decent placement records for all sorts of engineering disciplines.

Facilities, teaching expertise, and government support also adorn the college. Still, it cannot win a Top Engineering Colleges of India rank for itself typically, but that certainly gets it into Tier 2.

Hello Mainak, You have to appear in an exam called LEET conducted by many state government colleges for admission to students through lateral entry and according to the result you can get a college.
