It is a good college in Amravati.
Placements: Almost 85% of the students in the fourth year of Instrumentation Engineering get placed from this college. The highest package ranges between 7 to 9 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA. Core companies like Adani Power, Schneider Electric, and L&T conduct placement drives on the college campus for our course. Students get internships at power plants in nearby areas of the city. Some students also choose to join software companies.
Infrastructure: There is a Centre of Excellence for Instrumentation and the IT department. Wi-Fi facility is available in the classrooms. Labs are okay, but the instruments need an upgrade. The library is good. Hostels are available for both boys and girls, but for boys, it is only for the first and second years. Two old hostels have been closed for the last five to six years. Facilities in the labs should be improved.
Faculty: Faculty members are qualified. They do their job and expect students to do their. The difficulty level of exams is moderate. The curriculum is updated to some extent every year, but it is not sufficient to make students industry-ready. You have to search for opportunities on your own to upskill yourself.
Other: When I took this course, I had no idea what Instrumentation Engineering meant or what the job roles were. However, as I gained knowledge about the field, I became satisfied with my decision. Connectivity is good, with the nearest railway junction being Badnera Junction and the nearest railway station being Amravati Railway Station. From there, you can find a city bus to the college. Our college hosts the Prajwalan tech fest and the Zenith cultural fest. The campus is huge and full of greenery. A few extracurricular activities take place every year, most of which are related to the cultural fest.

Instrumentation placements are good because being all clear is the criteria.
Placements: There are upto 30 to 35 students every year. The lowest salary in core companies ranges from 3 LPA to 4 LPA. The highest salary varies between 8 LPA to 9 LPA. Top companies are Synder, Reliance, L&T Turbo, etc. I don't have any idea about internships. Top role is process automation in the industry or automation engineer.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are below average but have a digital board. We have the best lab which is center of excellence lab. A computer lab is also good but old infrastructure. New boys hostel is good but not better than the old hostel which has internet in each room and now they are closed due to old infrastructure.
Faculty: Permanent faculty members kept visiting to teach. Paper is easy but checking is too much hard. Only in the end-semester students don't get 20 out of 60 and 20 marks is the criteria for separate passing. The passing percentage is too low in my class, only 5 students are all clear.
Other: I chose this course because it has the least cutoff or lower cutoff than all others due to awareness. Other things are good but not the best.

It is a college with a million opportunities.
Placements: The percentage of students placed varies depending on factors like the number of students who appear for interviews, and the number of students actually continued till the 4th year (8th semester) of college. The packages offered are around 4-5.5 LPA for field jobs. IT jobs are offered with a bit higher packages. If a student is not doing an internship, then it becomes compulsory for the student to do a project.
Infrastructure: The labs, classrooms, library, etc., are both well-equipped and well maintained. Wi-Fi is available in the admin building (where network blockers have been installed). Two out of the three hostels for boys are currently under development and reconstruction, and the newest boys' hostel is very clean and well maintained. It has spacious rooms having a capacity of 3 people per room. The reason behind rating the infrastructure 3 stars is that all the departments don't have an individual building of their own, i.e., CSE, IT and instrumentation engineering are in the same building. EE, ENTC and mechanical engineering are in one building. Only civil engineering has a separate building of its own.
Faculty: The faculty members are simply amazing. They are skilled, well experienced and fantastic at their job. This is a typical thing that you can expect from a government engineering college. As far as my knowledge goes, the curriculum has been recently updated and is updated every 4-5 years. Being an autonomous institution, the papers of the exams are set up in GCOEA itself, and they are pretty tough to get through. This academic year, i.e., 2021-22, the college has implemented separate passing in each subject, i.e., you have to score a total of 40 or more marks in mid-semester exams (MSE-30 marks)+T.A. (Teacher's Assessment- 10 Marks) + end semester exams (ESE-60 marks) combined, and at the same time, you have to score a total of 20 marks in ESE to pass a subject.

Dissatisfied with faculty members. Placement is good and T&P department is very active.
Placements: 40 percent of students were placed with 4.5 lacs being the highest package. The recruiting companies were NEML, TCS. There are not many companies that visit for Instrumentation specialisation. The students of Instrumentation in our college either go for software companies or go for higher studies or go for government job exams. Instrumentation does not have a lot of scope of placement in our college.
Infrastructure: Our infrastructure was not bad. Now I inquired college is focusing on infrastructure also. The canteen provides only snacks. Sports facilities are not very good but the hostel mess food is good. The library is also good. The library has all the books you need and they are also supportive. No Medical facility is available. Wi-Fi does not work and most of the sites are blocked on the college's Wi-Fi network. Labs don't have instruments or most of them are damaged.
Faculty: Teachers were not very helpful teachers were very qualified and knowledgeable but not willing to teach (exceptions can be made). Teaching quality is also not very good. Most of the teachers tecah in monotonous way and not th creative one. Curriculum is relevant excluding the practicals, Proper instruments are not present or most of them are damaged.
Other: I chose this course so that I can get knowledge of all the fields. It comprises of subjects of electrical, electronics and computer. I think there is a lack of vision in teachers. If they can follow college's vision which will definitely induce passion in our students and I am very much sure that students will do way better because as far as I have seen the students in this college are bright.

One of the top Engineering Institute in Central India.
Placements: As the institute is very old, it holds the good name of itself among the top IT and other companies. Top IT companies comes as a mass recruiter while companies related to Mechanical, Civil and Electrical comes to recruit the top talent of the respective field. In the year 2018-19, top e-commerce company came to recruit a top talent for overseas location.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of institute in terms of hostels, academic and administrative buildings is really good. Though the instruments/devices kept for the practical purpose of students are not sufficient to get the perfect amount of knowledge. The institute also has cricket, football, volleyball, basketball ground to keep students busy in sports activities.
Faculty: The faculty members at Government College of Engineering, Amravati are well educated and almost everyone holds the doctorate degree in their respective field. The gap of not having all the academic related devices/instruments are fulfilled by the professors who have good knowledge about the working of such machines.

Q:   Is Government College of Engineering Amravati Tier 1 or Tier 2?
A:

Government College of Engineering Amravati is considered an elite class II government engineering college with a great reputation across the state, especially in Maharashtra. Though they have not gained the same status of national recognition that Tier 1 institutions like IITs or NITs enjoy, such institutes remain good places of learning with decent placement records for all sorts of engineering disciplines.

Facilities, teaching expertise, and government support also adorn the college. Still, it cannot win a Top Engineering Colleges of India rank for itself typically, but that certainly gets it into Tier 2.
