Our college has a good campus.
Placements: There are good placements for TT and APM. For IT and CSE, placements are not up to the mark. Our TPO tries its best to make it good for our future. Campus placements will be better in the near future. Many companies will reach our college. I hope everyone will get placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of labs is moderate, like that of average government colleges. Wi-Fi is available in college, but it's not working. Classrooms are in average condition. They are enough for learning. Hostel facilities are available. The canteen is also in average condition. If you want to play any games, you can join this college.
Faculty: Faculty members in IT are very helpful, more laborious, and always try to make us more expresses in our career. Biswajit Sanyal is a great teacher. All faculty members in IT try to provide more knowledge. They teach us at Gate level.

Placements are not good this year. Overall, it is an average government college in Serampore.
Placements: Currently, because of the recession ongoing, the placements scenario is not so good. Placements are not good due to the recession. Only 50% of students got placed as of now till March in Computer Science and Information Technology Department (which is my department). The highest package offered has been around 10 LPA in textile and computer science department. The lowest salary package offered is of 3 LPA and the average salary package offered is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Cognizant, and Tech Mahindra. Only a few students got internships this year due to recession in some startups and MNCs. The top role offered is software developer in startups.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided are average in this college with required improvements in laboratories and PCs installed in these labs. Otherwise Wi-Fi, air-conditioners, library and classrooms are all available in our college. Library is one of the best facility provided in our college with a wide range of books for all departments. They also provide some other facilities such as sports ground, college hostel, and medical facilities. Especially the canteen and sports ground are very good. Several sports are also organised here.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are well-qualified and helpful in all aspects. They are not only helpful in our studies but also in co-curricular activities. The course curriculum is based on AICTE and UGC. This college is under MAKAUT University which is well-known in West Bengal. The course has a lot of subjects and other activities which make students industry-ready. The difficulty level of semester exams in my opinion is moderate. If a student just follows the classes and understand the subjects, he can easily get good scores in semesters.
Other: I chose this course because I want to become a software engineer. My WBJEE rank got me this college and looking at the fee structure and placement I joined this course and college. The placement cell can better and laboratories should be more advanced and well-equipped. This college is very good at organising different tech fest, cultural events, quiz competitions, coding contests, sports, and a lot of other things. A scholarship facility is good compared to other colleges. This college is situated in Serampore is very good with very good facilities and faculty members. But placements could be better. One can choose this college as the fees structure is also affordable.

Government College of Engineering Textile Technology, Serampore offers good undergraduate programs.
Placements: Around 60% Of students were placed in different companies. The highest package was 7 LPA AND the lowest was 3.6 LPA which has been offered till now. The top recruiting companies were TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, etc., Almost 50% Of students got an internship in different fields in different companies. The roles offered by companies are PAT (Programme analyst trainee), SDE, etc.,
Infrastructure: The College campus is large enough with a large playground and hostel too. The classrooms are quite large and spacious but not well maintained. The labs are well-equipped with computers and centralized air-conditioning. The library is well-equipped with books. The hostel is not at all well maintained and the food quality is also not good. Medical facilities are good. Sports and games are also available and are arranged every year.
Faculty: Teachers faculty are very good with very good behavior and are helpful. Teachers are very qualified and very knowledgeable. They help students during college time and also after that. The course curriculum is relevant and also helpful. Semester exams are moderate and are taken by MAKAUT university.
Other: There are many events organized including the television tech fest, cricket tournament, quiz, and many more.

Review of Government College of Engineering and Textile Technology Serampore.
Placements: Around 50% of students got placed from information technology stream in the college. The packages range between 3 LPA to 10 LPA. The companies which recruit the most are TCS, Wipro, and Infosys. Different start-ups and other companies provide placements. Around 50% of students got internships in different companies in different roles.
Infrastructure: There are different labs available for different practical subjects, which is a good thing. Free Wi-Fi is available for students all over the campus. There are a good library with a vast collection of books and average classrooms. The hostel facilities are quite basic, and the food is not up to the mark. The canteen is average. Sports and games are not much good, yet we have an annual sports meet.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful, but exceptions are everywhere. Apparently, all are qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is as per MAKAUT guidelines, so we can't really differentiate it from other colleges in West Bengal under MAKAUT. It does prepare you for industry, but not fully. The semester exams are tough, though. Around 90% of students pass the exams.
Other: I chose this course not just from my love for programming but also because it teaches many things. This was available for me. The best thing is you study electronics as well without joining that course at all. The only thing that can improve is including unnecessary subjects in the curriculum. Not many events are held, but there are some. A good fest is held once a year. The campus crowd is average. The surroundings are good. Students can get different scholarships.

It is an average college with below average infrastructure but is undergoing renovation recently.
Placements: Seats are available for 40 students. Maximum students get placed through off-campus placements or go for GATE or CAT. TCS, Wipro and start-up companies visit the college to offer placements. A known guy got placed in TCS, Chennai, for the internship programme through CodeVita. Most of the students graduate without a job in our department, so it's recommended not to depend on college for jobs.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available. Labs are average. The library is good, but it could be better if it was bigger. The ground is huge but not maintained well. The canteen is depressing, but I've heard it is getting renovated. The campus has amidst nature and is located just by the river Ganga. Faculty members are helpful but lazy. Overall, it is an average college under MAKAUT.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, mostly. But you always get one or two offbeat and lazy ones for an interesting subject. If you are truly passionate about your subjects, you have to ask them questions to get more details. There isn't much competition as the intake is low, and a lot of students get in through decentralised counselling.

A college of hope for those who can't afford big colleges.
Placements: This college has some very good placement percentage when it comes to textile that is almost 100% but when we move towards technical branches like CSE and IT the placement percentage falls drastically to 60-70% (majorly due to the unavailability of internships and exposure to industry). Major recruiters are TCS, Wipro, Infosys And Oracle (which recruits very few students like 1 or 2 and some times even none). The highest package oncampus ranges about 8-10lpa and average package 4-5 lpa for CSE & IT.
Infrastructure: I don't have an idea about it currently as we haven't entered the college campus till now due to covid-19. But how much I have got to know by the college website and locals that there is only one hostel with a total accommodation for 100 students but sorry to say, there is no hostel facilities for girls.
Faculty: Yes the college has awesome faculty members for textile department and not just that they get proper exposure of the textile industries near the city. The faculty of CSE and IT is also awesome but due to a highly competitive market of technical field the college is a bit unable to provide you that awesome dream packages ( like 15lpa- 25lpa) and companies (like Google Amazon) but with some extra efforts you can surely get them off-campus.

It is the best college for students who got good rank in WBJEE.
Placements: Around 70% of students in our course got placed on the campus. From the last 4 years, every student gets placed. The lowest salary offered is 3.5 LPA, and the highest salary offered is 7.5 LPA. Companies like Adobe, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, etc., visit our campus for placements. The college does not provide an internship opportunity for students. One has to do an internship on their own capability. The college provides 100% placements in textile and APM on campus.
Infrastructure: It has the worst campus in west Bengal. The hostel conditions are the worst. Classrooms and labs are in excellent conditions. I am a day scholar, so I can't say about the hostel facilities. Canteen is in good condition. Quality of food served is good compared to other colleges.
Faculty: Teachers in our college don't teach anything after the 2nd year. In the CSE department, they only provide notes and asks them to learn from it. The IT department teachers have the best teaching quality.

Take admission only if it's your last choice and you can't afford the private colleges.
Placements: The placements are good for textile and apparel department, but for IT and CSE, it's not good. Previously, 60-70 percent of the students used to get placed, but this year, only one from IT and a few from CSE got placed in the companies like Wipro. Oracle visited the campus, but didn't recruit anyone. The salary offered was around 2.0 to 3.5 LPA. The placement scenario is troubling currently in this college for CSE and IT department.
Infrastructure: You cannot expect a good infrastructure from a state government college as it is decent. Finally, after three years I think the construction of the auditorium is going to be completed. There is a Wi-Fi facility on the campus, but only like 20 MB per day(Jio Wi-Fi). The students should forget about the sports. There is a common room, but it is empty. The classrooms are average. There is a small canteen, which serves Maggi, tea, and the other small items. The hostel rooms are spacious and accommodate three students in one room. There is a TT room in the hostel.
Faculty: Again for the textile department, the faculty members are awesome. We have a few good professors for IT and CSE department too, but the biggest issue is that they all teach in the local regional language that is Bengali. There is an industry exposure for TT and APM, and none for CSE and IT. The student-faculty ratio is good, and we have a batch of only 30-35 students, so that is a plus point. The only great thing is the fee is low, for CSE, it's only 6K per semester and for IT's only 12K per semester.
Other: Every year, there is an annual sports meet and an annual fest 'Texavision'. The budget of the fest is low so that the college can only afford the local musicians and a few unknown DJs for the events. There is nothing in the name of the extra co-curricular activity.
