Fully satisfied with the infrastructure, placement opportunities, .
Placements: Placement is exceptionally good. Pre-placement offers are quite common in the third year itself, but placements in the fourth year also take place. Many students pursue M.Tech through the GATE examination in various institutions like IITs, NITs, and IISERs. Big recruiting companies like Microsoft, Wipro, Cognizant, Adobe, Uber, Zomato, Infosys, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, IBM, and Oracle come to our campus for placements. Approximately 70% of the students get placed by the end of the fourth and final year. The highest package offered is around 9 LPA, and the lowest was around 3 LPA (most recent). The average package is somewhere around 5.5 LPA. I am from the Information Technology department, and nearly 75% of the students got internships from my course in companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, etc. Top roles offered in my course include software developer, web developer, database administrator, project manager, etc.
Infrastructure: Nearly all types of facilities are available, like Wi-Fi on campus, hi-tech labs for Python, DSA, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Leather Technology. The libraries are filled with informative books by both foreign and Indian authors on various subjects, including coding languages, leather technology, abstract algebra, graph theory, multivariate calculus, higher statistics, probability theory, game theory, stereochemistry, power technology, nuclear physics, and creativity theory. A hostel for boys is available, which is clean and tidy and provides a supportive environment. Sports like cricket, football, volleyball, marathon, race, swimming, and badminton are promoted. Good, nutritious, and hygienic food is provided three times a day for students, besides snacks. Good toilets, washrooms, and a canteen are also available, along with helpful staff members. Security guards are present to ensure the safety of students. Medical facilities include quick first aid; there is a hospital just beside our college in case of any emergency, and all types of medicine are available there. Various events like hackathons, chess, sudoku, carrom, RoboTricks club-organized robo-race events, leather exhibitions, science project exhibitions, coding competitions, and gaming events are also organized.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, very helpful, and highly knowledgeable. They are always ready to help you, are very understanding and supportive, and most of them are Ph.D. scholars. Their teaching quality is also excellent. The teaching is mostly curriculum-related, but preparations for other government exams like GATE, UPSC, and SSC CGL are also provided if necessary. Placement-related preparations are provided by the professors, which makes the students industry-ready. Our college is under MAKAUT curriculum, so the exams are pretty difficult, especially the PCAs and semester exams. But most of the students manage to pass the exam; approximately 80% is the pass percentage.
Other: I have chosen the B.Tech in Information Technology. This course is the most sought-after course in our college, as the maximum number of recruitments occurs from this course. It also covers most of the topics from Computer Science Engineering and much more. The highest package offered is also from this course. Some improvements that can be made in this course include more up-to-date computers and more books on IT-related topics. Events like hackathons, Robotrix, coding events, technical fests, and NAAC Accreditation take place. Fests like Resurrection 2k24 cultural festival, Engineers 2k24 Techno Creative Fest, Done Fest 2k24, and Punormilon 2k24 have been organized.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of placement cell.
Placements: Due to the recession this year, the placement record is too bad, and many of our seniors want to pursue higher studies. But I know the placement records of 2023. The low number of students in our college is the primary reason for the low placement reports. 42% were placed that year. The highest package offered that year was around 14 LPA, and the average package was 5.7 LPA. The recruiting companies are TCS, Capgemini, Infosys, and many leather companies. For CS and IT, SDE roles were offered. I'm not aware of which roles were offered by the leather companies.
Infrastructure: Because this is a government college, the facilities are not so good, but I can say they have decent classroom and labs. Wi-Fi is available. It has a huge RFID-facilitated library with more than 18000 books 16 national journals and 12 international journals. The hostel feels is pretty less 10k in 4 years. No canteen is available in the college campus. Hospital are available near college and it has a huge playground where football, cricket, volleyball and badminton are played.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. About 30% of the faculty members have a Ph.D. degree, and many more are already registered for a Ph.D. and pursuing serious research. Gcelt is not an autonomous college. This is under the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. The syllabus is old, so it doesn't make the students industry-ready, but in this college, you have lots of time. You can invest the time in building the skills. And the seniors are very helpful; they will definitely guide you properly. If you study well before the exam, you can easily pass the semester exams.
Other: I wanted to study computer science, so that I chose it. I wish the syllabus would be improved to make the students industry-ready. Three festivals are held each year: a sports festival, a teaching festival, and annual festival. Scholarship: SVMCM (60k per year) The campus is full of greenery, calm and peace. The number of students is pretty low.

Satisfied with the quality of teaching.
Placements: As per claims of the college of full placement, it actually gives placement of about 70% students. The median package is 5.5 LPA while the highest and the lowest are 3 LPA and 10 LPA, respectively. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, and Cognizant. About 60% of students got internships from CSE and IT batches. Top roles include web developer, and project manager.
Infrastructure: Well, to be honest here, considering it's a government college, the infrastructure is pretty bad. The windows are broken, toilets are unclean, and there are no good lab instruments. Wi-Fi remains down most of the time. There are no canteens at the college so mostly students go out to eat.
Faculty: Regarding faculty members, they are quite good in their respective fields. They teach good quality things, and they are very relevant for the respective courses as well as for jobs. Semester exams are average. The pass percentage is 85%. However, the students learn the skills needed for future jobs or higher studies.
Other: I chose this course through the WBJEE exam. I love computer science and IT. So that's the reason I chose this. However, I wish more on-campus placements happened in our course. There are plenty of extracurricular activities though, so its good. The events and fests are also nice.

Best government college in West Bengal.
Placements: For our batch in B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, approximately 80% of students were successfully placed. The highest package offered was around $100,000 per annum, while the lowest was $30,000 per annum. The average package stood at approximately $60,000 per annum. The top roles offered were Software Engineering.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the Computer Science Engineering department is top-notch. We have well-equipped computer labs with high-speed Wi-Fi, modern classrooms with audio-visual aids, and a comprehensive library stocked with relevant books and research materials. The hostels are comfortable.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable, providing valuable insights and guidance to students. They are approachable and supportive, fostering a conducive learning environment. The course curriculum is regularly updated to align with industry standards, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the demands of the IT sector.

GCELT through my eyes - 2022 to 2026.
Placements: In our college, the placement scenario is a little bit low as more numbers of students prepare for the GATE examination. In 2023, 42% of students were placed. The highest package was 14 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Deloitte, Hexaware, Infosys, Oracle, etc. For more information, you can visit the LinkedIn profile of our college - GCELT.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. There are enough labs and classrooms in our college. In the library, there are enough books but a little older version. Faculty members are too helpful. They will teach you, guide you, and grow your interest in the teaching field. As I am a day-scholar, I have no information about the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are too helpful. They are highly qualified, and their teaching quality is also commendable. The course curriculum is relevant too. The course prepares a student for the industry. There are some extra subjects other than technology, such as humanities. This helps you too. Semester exams are not so difficult. You can easily pass if you are regular in studies. The pass percentage of our college is more than 90%.
Other: As the technological market is a growing market in recent times, I decided early in 11th to choose the B.Tech degree. So, I gave the WBJEE exam and secured a rank of 4K. With this rank, I was able to get into this college. The best thing about this course is the market availability of jobs. There are tech fests, annual cultural fests, and annual sports fests held in our college.

Absolutely satisfied with the good placements, internship opportunities, and good faculty.
Placements: As our college is a Tier 3 college, it does not provide a good placement offer to the students. 30–40% of students are placed by on-campus placement. The highest package and the lowest package of our college are, respectively, 100000/annum and 30000/annum. The average package is 70,000/annum. Mainly Kolkata-based companies are visited in our college. In the case of internships, a smaller number of students get internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: As our college is not so moderate, here Wi-Fi is not available. Our lab teachers are good but the machines or chemicals in our lab are very old. We have a neat and clean classroom. But no digital facility is available. We have a big library in our college where a lot of books are available. I am not staying in hostel so I can't say anything about it. Sports competitions are also arranged by our college seniors.
Faculty: Our faculty members are very helpful and friendly. They help us to solve problems. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They focus on practical teaching. The course curriculum is based on our stream. It helps us advance in our careers and find better jobs. The semester exam is not so difficult; it plays between easy and moderate. Around 70–80% of students passed.
Other: As I am from a science background and I want to work in the computer line, I chose this course. Our course is based on computer-related things. Here, we learn practically. According to me, nothing is required to improve our course. Every year, a technical and cultural festival is organized by our seniors and union. As our college is located in the center of Kolkata, connectivity is very good. Different types of scholarships are available for students. Excluding that the TFW quota is also applicable.
