MD in Anesthesiology - Batch of 2025

Evaluation of the Government Medical College and Hospital in Sivagangai.
Placements: Students at GSMCH have excellent placement options. Students must serve in rural areas for a few years after completing the MD program. Community involvement and real-world experience are highly valued at the college. An internship is required after the MD Anesthesiology course. The internship offers a very good stipend.
Infrastructure: The college has excellent facilities for all of its offerings. Almost four to five rooms have one wireless outlet. Though certain rooms may require three students to reside there, overall, the experience is positive. Each room is designed to accommodate three individuals. Perhaps the kids from North India don't enjoy the food in the mess. The canteen is mediocre. There is access to most sports and games.
Faculty: Academic staff members are average. There are straight university exams instead of semester exams for the MBBS program. The instruction is of low caliber. Students from North India find it challenging because 70% of instruction is in Tamil. Students find it challenging to spend five years due to limitations, food issues, and language barriers.

Our college is small with few facilities.
Placements: Placements after the MBBS course are possible but everyone prepares for NEET PG. After MBBS you can easily get jobs in private hospitals. The average salary offered ranges between Rs 50,000 - Rs 60,000 per month. Placements are not offered in this college.
Infrastructure: The facilities in our college are minimal. The infrastructure is average. Classrooms are like small coaching centers. Playground is very small. Wi-Fi is available in our hostels. Practical lab is of a very low level. In the library, only fans are available. The library remains open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Boys are not allowed. Games are not conducted in this college.
Faculty: Faculty members are average. In the MBBS course, there are no semester exams, but we have direct university exams. The quality of teaching is poor. It is difficult for North Indian students because 70% of teaching is in Tamil. It is difficult for students to spend five years because of language problems, food problems, and restrictions.
Other: Our college conducts only one event a year. It is the only medical college in India with strict rules. Our college maintains discipline. Girls cannot roam on our campus. In our classrooms, boys sit in one row while girls sit in the other.

Good facilities and clinical exposure.
Placements: Since it is government college and medical field, they do not offer placement. There is 1 year internship, after that you can practice anywhere, whereever you want, but you have to register with medical council and get registration number for practice. After getting registration number you can practice anywhere in india.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good with good lab facilities and good library facility with AC. Hostel and mess are good. Three students share one room, with Wi-Fi facility. Rooms are spacious, occupied with tables and chairs, study room is available in hostel equipped with Wi-Fi and tables.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and friendly, with good quality of teaching. Yearly exams are moderately difficult. 100% of students pass in most of the year. The failure rate is very low. They provide good clinical exposure and learning techniques, helping to understand and learn about disease and their management.

Review of Government Sivagangai Medical College And Hospital.
Placements: After MBBS, the salary offered is around Rs. 50,000-60,00,000 per month. If you work in Tamil Nadu, you cannot get hue sakary packages because it has many MBBS colleges.
Infrastructure: The hostel life is good for all students, but for Tamil students, ragging is here. The food served in the hostel is very good. The hostel provides chapatis. Seniors are supportive. The hostel has workers who wash clothes. We have to pay for it. I would suggest joining this hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good, but they teach in their languages, so be aware of that. Students are ready to earn after MBBS around Rs. 50,000-60,000 per month in the north side. Semester exams are easy.
Other: Events and patient flow are not good. It is better to join north-side colleges like Rajasthan. Our college life is average. Our college provides the best knowledge.

Good faculty and moderate infrastructure, but it is in a rural area.
Infrastructure: All required facilities are available with proper labs for each department. The building might be a little old. Currently, expansion is going on. Our mess is not very big or good. The food is just average. Sports and cultural activities take place throughout the year. However, there is not much outside the college, so entertainment is less.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and very helpful. Teaching is conducted in both Tamil and English. The course is not hard but very vast, so persistence is key. It is a 5.5-year course with no semesters. There is a one-week break each for summer and winter. All Saturdays are working days except the second Saturday. Exams are moderately difficult. The strength per batch is 100. As a government college, expenses are relatively low. Professors for all departments are available. In anatomy, we have one cadaver for every 50 students. There is good in-patient flow, which increases due to the current expansion.

Life in GSMCH (doctor's journey).
Placements: Totally there are 100 students in our batch, out of which 85 students will be from Tamil Nadu and 15 will be from other states. Mainly other state students will be from Kerala. In medical colleges there will be no placements, but there will be a period of internship. The payment for the internship will vary according to the college. In our college, currently interns are paid 25000 monthly.
Infrastructure: Classrooms will be clean and neat. There will be adequate facilities needed for a student. But you should not expect facilities like AC and others because since it is a government college, you cannot expect that kind of facilities. There will be Wi-Fi in the hostel, but in the classroom, Wi-Fi facilities are not provided. A common library is present for both boys and girls. Professors will also use that library. All kinds of books, both Indian authors and foreign authors books, will be there in n the library. There will be adequate facilities in the hostel. Mess food will be quiet. Everyday non-veg will be provided as extra except for Friday. Coffee, tea, and milk will be provided in the morning and evening. Snacks will be provided in the evening. Since it is a medical college, a hospital will be nearby. Sports are given importance in our college. Sports such as football, volleyball, basketball, and cricket are given importance.
Faculty: The teachers are well experienced and skilled. The teaching will be manual, as that of normal classroom teaching. A practical way of teaching is also implemented. Yes, the curriculum is relevant. The curriculum is based on NMC norms. They are strictly followed. The exams are of moderate toughness, and some will be quite tough. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I chose this course because it provides more mental satisfaction than money. We will deal with the lives of patients; that is the important aspect of our course. Yearly there will be cultural Tamil mandrams and some more festivals.
