A review of Hansraj College.
Placements: About 50% are involved in the research field of Botany in 4 years. A few clear UPSC, and some get into the research stream, Ph.D., and Master's. Many more Ph.D. students are within the college campus only with professors of the Botany department. There are a lot of other options.
Infrastructure: The college has a big ground and an indoor badminton court with AC. The campus is fully AC-provided. Labs have all kinds of instruments and equipment available. The canteen has good food and sitting space for eating, with all varieties of food available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and encouraging in lab practicals. They provide proper procedures for respective experiments. The curriculum is very relevant and connected with the subject. Exams are very interesting, as most of them are from PYQs. Young gem.
Other: I chose this because I am interested in practical work. It should be more practical than just writing files and theories. Many societies in college conduct many events, like Orja for dance, NCC, and all. The crowd is very awesome.

Placements: Around 30% of students get placed in the college through the placement cell, mostly in writing-related work in companies like Penguin Books, etc. The median package is around 5 LPA. The highest package is 8 LPA. The companies mostly come to recruit in the consulting sector.
Infrastructure: The college is too bad in terms of infrastructure. The projector does not work. The smart board does not work. The AC does not work half of the time. The desks, hostel, and benches are broken. The Wi-Fi does not work in the college. The food available in the canteen is edible.
Faculty: The college faculty is very knowledgeable and qualified in their roles. They mostly stick to the syllabus and the books. The course curriculum is now irrelevant due to the invention of AI. The students are not being prepared for the industry. Semester examinations are very easy to pass by studying for a few days.

English Hons does not get good placements.
Placements: English Hons does not really get the best placements. But for the overall college, the highest package is around 20 PA, which is very impressive. In my course, the percentage of students who get placed is fairly low. But the exposure provided makes up for it.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the entire college is really good, including my department. The food in the canteen is very affordable and delicious, and the medical facilities are fair too. A gym is available, but it is not free for college students. They need to pay for it.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is not very relevant. Students do not become industry-ready just with its help. The semester exams are on the easier side to pass.

Good college but not worth the hype.
Placements: I am unaware of placement in the course till now. But what I know is that the college has a decent number of placements. The mean package is 11 LPA. The highest package was 36 LPA last year. The companies were mostly from the consulting side.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is really bad. The college classrooms do not have properly working projectors and smart boards. The desks and chairs in the classrooms are broken. The ACs on campus do not work properly and are not on for most of the time during college timings.
Faculty: Some teachers are highly qualified, but some of them are there because of their names and qualifications. They do not want to teach either. They just come and take attendance, and some of them also cancel the classes before class timings.
