Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training (HIMT Chennai) is a private institute, located in Kilpauk, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It has four campuses in Kilpauk, Tidel Park, Kalpakkam, and Vizag. Established in 1998, HIMT is the only Institute in India to offer the maximum courses (90+) approved by the DG of Shipping. The institute is affiliated with the Indian Maritime University. HIMT Chennai is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) and the Ministry of Shipping (Government of India) with a sanctioned intake of 60 students for each course.
The primary eligibility requirements for admissions to BSc courses at HIMT Chennai are that candidates must complete their Class 12 from the PCM stream with at least an aggregate of 60% and 50% in English at the Class 10 & 12 levels. Additionally, for the admission process, the college accepts valid IMU CET scores.
