IIT Goa offers BTech courses in four branches viz., CSE, EE, ME and MnC. Deciding the best branch among all the branches depends on various factors that are important to candidate. Some of the important point to consider while deciding the best branch of IIT Goa are mentioned-below:

1. Placements Opportunities: The common perception among students is that CSE has good placements among all the branches of Engineering. Before making the decision, it is important to look at the branch-wise placements of that particular college. Same applies to IIT Goa! In 2024, a total of 161 recruiters participated in the placement process and placed 116 students of BTech and MTech in new-age job profiles. 2. Cuttoff: The common criteria upon the branch selection at IIT Goa is the cutoff required for admission. Looking at the IIT Goa cutoff (Round 1), CSE is the most competitive branch with a 2024 Round 1 closing rank of 4654 for the General category candidates. 3. Future Perspective: The third important factor of deciding the best branch of IIT Goa is to think about the long-term goals. If someone is interested in CS and have a passion for it, then choosing CS is a good option. CSE has a good future, but it’s stressful for those who don’t have interest in it. If a candidate has strong command on Mathematics, then combine Mathematics with Computers Science. Mathematics and Computing Engineering (MnC) branch at IIT Gaa trained students in Algorithm Development, Data Analytics and Scientific Computing. They have lots of opportunoties in the current market as well as in the future.

The IIT Goa BTech cutoff 2026 was released for the first rounds for various All India categories. For the General AI category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 6448 to 12299. As per this range, B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was the toughest couse for admission.

Indian Institute of Technology Goa has a central library with databases, e-books, e-journals, and others. The college has a collection of reference books, textbooks on varied subjects like Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Materials Science, Economics, Computer Science, Linguistics, and others. IIT Goa MTech fee is a cumulative of multiple components such as tuition fee, hostel fee, library fee, security deposit, etc. Some of the components are one-time chargeable, while some have to be paid annually/half-yearly. In addition to the course fee, students are also required to pay for the entrance exam's application via which they are offered admission at IIT Goa. 

The cutoff trend for BTech at IIT Goa has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for BTech under General category for all India quota was 5756. In 2022, it decreased to 5555. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 2399 to 2476 for OBC, 1764 to 1491 for SC, 695 to 554 for ST, 837 to 990 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for Engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories, however, the ranks are slightly different.

The application fees for JEE Main is written below

• INR 1,000 for Male unreserved, OBC, EWS category candidates
• INR 800 for Female unreserved/OBC/EWS category candidates
• INR 500 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category candidates

IIT Goa provides various programmes and specialisations to students. These courses are available in different streams. In addition to the course fee, candidates are also required to pay the application fee while JEE registration. The same for BTech at IIT Goa through JEE Main official website is INR 1,000 for boys and for girls (of General/ Gen-EWS/ OBC (NCL categories), it is INR 800.

Candidates applying for PhD course at IIT Goa have to pay a non-refundable application fee of INR 200. There is a relaxation in the application fee for SC/ ST/ PwD/ EWS/ female candidates. The fee for such aspirants is INR 200. Aspirants need to pay the application fee via any of the online payment modes.

The tuition fee of BTech at IIT Goa is INR 8 lakh. They need to pay a one-time payment of INR 7,000. Candidates need to pay the course fee as the last step of admission process to confirm admission. This number is taken from official sources. It can change.

IIT Goa JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 has been released for the first round for admission to the BTech course and its various branches. The cutoff was out for different AI quota categories.
