It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Step 1: IIT Palakkad Application Process

Step 2: IIT Palakkad Selection Process

Candidates are shortlisted based on their qualifications. Next candidates are required to go through the selection process which requires candidates to go through the course-based entrance exam followed by other selection rounds (if applicable). After the selection rounds are completed, they are required to go through the course-wise counselling process for final seat allocation. For PhD and MS, IIT Palakkad conducts its own written test and personal interview for selection.

BTech course is offered in five specialisations at IIT Palakkad: Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Data Science Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Data Science is the new addition to the IIT Palakkad B.Tech programme which was introduced in 2022.
