IDOL Mumbai University Admission 2025: Eligibility, Application, Dates & Fee

Yes, weightage given to both the degrees is same. Students having Mumbai University’s IDOL degree are considered the same as a regular degree student. Another advantage of pursuing a course from MU’s IDOL is that students can complete their course along with their job simultaneously. The only thing that they need to do is stay in regular touch with the teachers or a guide through Personal Contact Programmes (PCP).

Institute of Distance and Open Learning, University of Mumbai offers courses at UG and PG levels in multiple streams such as Commerce, Arts, Science, etc. The institute offers a total of 19 courses in distance-education mode. The courses include MSc, MA, BA, MCA, etc. The institute conducts an entrance exam only for MCA and MMS courses. 

IDOL Mumbai University provides direct admission to candidates based on their merit in the last qualifying exam to most of the programmes. However, aspirants need to pass the entrance exam conducted by the institute for a few courses such as MCA, MMS, etc. Once selected, candidates have to confirm their seat by paying the course fee.

Candidates can apply for any of the UG programmes offered at IDOL Mumbai University after completing Class 12. The institute has not specified any aggregate for UG courses. Since 65% is a decent score, aspirants can get admission in any of the UG courses. The selection for UG courses is based on merit of the aspirants in the last qualifying exam.

Candidates who have completed Class 12 from Maharashtra State Board or equivalent can apply for the BCom programme at IDOL Mumbai University. A minimim of 45% aggregate is required to apply for BCom Accounting and Finance. There is a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate for reserved category candidates.

The IDOL University Mumbai allows students to take their exams in three different languages, such as Hindi, English, and Marathi. At the undergraduate level, the university provides a three-year BCom course. The IDOL University Mumbai BCom fee ranges from INR 16300 to 30100. The BCom programme is offered in the distance/correspondence mode. The fee for BCom in Accounts or Management Group is INR 16,300.
