MBBS admission to BHU, Institute of Medical Sciences, is mainly based on NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) Candidates must have the minimum percentage marks required in NEET and they attend MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) counselling. Institute of Medical Sciences BHU does not offer direct admission. IMS BHU primarily relies on national-level entrance exams like NEET-UG for undergraduate programs (like MBBS and BSc Nursing) and NEET-PG, NEET-SS, and NEET-MDS for postgraduate and super-specialty courses. GICED offers various courses such as PG Diploma, B.Sc, diploma, BMS, BA, MA and B Des etc. All the courses offered by GICED are ranked significantly by the students but the Bachelor of Design course and post graduate Diploma are the highest rated courses and ranked on top by the students.
MBA admission is done through SMAT exam and Bsc is 45 percent in 12th as a minimum criteria.
During the IMS BHU cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank was 1084 for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course. In 2022 and 2021, the last round closing ranks stood at 2735 and 974, respectively for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) for All India General category students.
