The selection criteria vary from one course to another. While some courses like MBBS require valid scores in NEET-UG and other courses like BSc and MSc, the institute conducts its entrance exam. For admission to the flagship MBBS programme, candidates have to appear for the NEET-UG exam. No, MBBS admissions at JIPMER Puducherry are not possible without the NEET. Students who wish to get admission must first register on the entrance exam portal. Then appear for the exam and then take part in the counselling. Pay the fee at the allotted and selected college.

JIPMER MBBS cutoff 2025 was 260 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. Similarly, for the OBC category students, the NEET UG last round closing rank was 748 for admission to the MBBS course. Comparing both categories, the cutoff rank was more competitive for the General category student
